Cannot wait for this game! Does that enemy at the end remind anyone else of Beast Ganon from Ocarina of Time? He seems to have horns too.

Eh, how disappointing. Looks like people are cursed into paintings, instead of the other way around. Oh well.

Anyway, there are some interesting things we can discern from the trailer:

1. As much as it was advertised to be nonlinear, it's still going to have narrative choke-points like in OoT, ALttP, etc. And it looks to be the SAME formula--go to three dungeons to get three jewels, then get the sword, and only then can you access the other dungeons. Hopefully (unlike OoT) the latter dungeons can be approached in ANY order.

2. Link's ability to transform into a painting seems to be tied to a magic bracelet.

3. Other characters have been cursed into paintings--perhaps the paintings are linked to the other world somehow?

4. Zelda is a damsel again.

5. We've got another Termina-esque alternate-world Hyrule.

6. Nintendo has said that there will be "cut scenes." If you look closely at the titles that occur at various points in the video (like 0:23) you'll see some very nice art--if you look closely, you can see the Master Sword and Painting Link. Perhaps this 2D art style will be used in those cinematics, in much the same way that Wind Waker used distinctive 2D in its intro. It would be a shame (and unlikely) if that art was created exclusively for trailers.

7. A new evil, so presumably NOT Ganon. Maybe the creepy dood with the dreads? Looks kind of like Happy Mask Salesman.

8. The new world is Lorule--Low Rule instead of High Rule. Kind of obvious, but maybe it implies that it's a kind of UNDERworld? The upside-down Triforce has appeared in two other games. I'm not sure what to make of it in Majora's Mask, but in Wind Waker you could argue that it's a Triforce pointing DOWN... and Hyrule was UNDER the great sea. So maybe a version of Hades?

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds - Classic Zelda turns 10

The Nintendo 3DS' The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is now 10 years old, yet remains a remarkable experience.

Calling this classic feels so weird to me. It's still the newest game in the old style... hope they make another one.

I would love a remake of Link to the Past, one in a similar vain to Link's Awakening.

Neonridr145d ago

it was an awesome game and utilized the 3D very well on the 3DS. A Link to the Past is one of my favorite Zelda games, so this one being a true sequel to that title really hit home with me.

I bought this very long ago, and it’s still in my backlog!
