Toys R Us Xbox One Video Removed Due To Comments

Toys"R"Us was forced to remove its Xbox One demo video from YouTube today due to the enormous amount of obscene and racist comments. The video highlighted the Xbox One as part of the company's "Fabulous 15" list but was quickly besieged by angry PlayStation 4 fans giving it thumbs down votes and users leaving profane and racist comments.

It would have been a similar reaction if the X1 was missing from that list. People are passionate about their opinion if that opinion is very well founded, and the decision to buy a PS4 is very well founded these days. Microsoft screwed X360 owners in the last couple of years by not supporting it's platform properly and then they tried it big-time with the initial Xbox One - I can definately understand the criticism for them in general but this time people really were going too far.

Did anyone even really read the article? They pushed the Xbox1? They pushed both consoles, yet only the Xbox1 got this kind of treatment and as a Wii U defender I know for sure, why it is this way, because PS4 fans just cannot accept, that others might not like their beloved console so much as they do and if it were a dictatorship, this people who dislike your console need to die. that's why, come nov. 22nd, I'm going to be so happy to leave all these negative nancies behind. I never even knew this was a problem until I took to the internet in search of some people to talk to/news to read as catharsis for my crazy anticipation for next gen consoles.

What I found was disgusting. Finding N4G a few months back was like tapping into a cesspool of unchecked hatred. Rather disconcerting, when initially I was nothing short of optimistic and happy (and assumed every other gamer felt likewise)

I've witnessed every "console war" since they started. I fought on the Sega side and my buddies fought on the Nintendo side when I was younger. At the end of the day we were all winners since I would go to my friends house and play on their NES or they would come to my house and play on my Master System. This went on until we either had no time or could play online much easier. Back then it was never brutal like it is today. It was all in fun. I couldn't wait for the original Playstation to launch. I had it prepaid for months before I finally had it. Talked my brother and all my friends into buying one. Today, I really can't believe what I see with Playstation fans. I'm platform agnostic. I buy every system that comes out. I follow the games. On N4G I am labeled an Xbot because I don't think the Playstation brand is the only viable gaming platform on the planet. I take pride in being called an Xbox fanboy because I do not want to be associated with the Playstation fanbase in any way. You see the responses here, "well you would do the same if it happened to you". Not even close. No other fanbase is as immature and hateful as the Playstation fanbase. Not all the made comments were Sony fanboys Many were Xbox fanboys that converted to the Sony camp or Nintendo camp or any other camp for obvious reasons, Microsoft trying to go communist with there console, DRM, always on, Forcing you to buy Kinect, among other things, and the fear that they may try to implement them in the future or that they suggested doing those things at all.

To me, the PS4 seems like a great game console. The X1 seems to be that and more. I wish Sony a good rebound, something needs to really make it some steady money. This is something I've been saying for months now. The animosity coming from the PS4 side of the fence is actually pretty surprising. I've been paying very close attention to the behavior of both sides and it's plainly obvious who the aggressors are. That's not to say that every PS4 fan is a maniac as there are some civilized voices in that camp that I've spoken to personally but the mere mention of the XB1 gets a lot of these guys incredibly angry and downright nasty. It's almost impossible to have a civilized discussion regarding this.

I had Xbox Live for 8 years, and PSN for 7. I clearly know the difference between the two services, and which has the racist, homophobic, sexist fanboys. I've also heard all the shill remarks of these people this whole year pretending like everything Microsoft did with the Xbox One was ok.

Now I see these people putting down PS4 people for everything that has been associated with Xbox this generation. It's really funny to see all these people who for years have looked the other way, now talk about some new scourge that up until now they have been oblivious to.

So many people who have been sucking up to Microsoft this whole way. People who deny reality. People who will believe anything told to them. These same people are crying foul. Get over it. #dealwithit

This astroturf awarding of 'hot 15' was just another sign of how out of touch Microsoft is. How did Microsoft not know this would end badly? Microsoft would be better off hiring Marie Antoinette's speech writer. To gamers, Microsoft has had a dozen 'let them eat cake moments'.

But it is amazing how many Xbox One trolls who have been buying all the bs, whereas putting down the people who know the truth, who have been denying reality this whole time, who now have the audacity to play the victim game. Amazing.

As for the the toys R us debacle...Whats wrong with just saying: "PS4 is cheaper and more powerful, making it better value for money" or "MS are overpricing their hardware" or "there are more F2P and exlusive games coming to PS4" those people could have said anything along those lines..but they didnt..go figure.

This aint really about X1 vs PS4. this is about gamers behaving in a way that is more fitting of kids in the playground.

I've heard abuse on a scale approaching 10:1 on Xbox Live over PSN. Nowhere did I ever say it didn't happen on PSN. It's the DIFFERENCE in SCALE that I was talking about.

Anywhere someone can express themselves, someone will abuse another, and that abuse is not just racial. Racial slurs are but one of many abuses I've heard. I've heard plenty of sexism...both ways...men against women and women against men. I've heard ruthless bagging on people. So many times I've been in an Xbox Live lobby and you have one person berating everybody about the stupidest things. In fact one time on Xbox Live there were people talking about drugs and how both lived in LA and the guy told him to send him a private message so they could hook up a do a drug deal.

So respectfully I submit to you my experience, and that of everyone I know who will say that overall, abuse over Xbox Live is far more prevalent, even if it does indeed happen on PSN.

Here on N4G (and elsewhere) we have had people on behalf of Xbox, arguing against facts. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that when one side argues against facts, the situation deteriorates. Many Xbox fanboys were proud to argue against facts and shill for Microsoft.

It also doesn't mean that Sony fanboys don't argue against facts. I've shown that Sony fanboys have as well. Like with the PS3 multiplatform issue.

You are missing the point I've been trying to say...that all sides have fanboys, and that when fanboys ignore facts, we lower the level of discussion. Since 2006 we had fanboys arguing about 3rd party multiplatform games not being inferior. Obviously incorrect, but it lowered many discussion. Just like now we have Xbox fanboys who have been shilling for Microsoft since the rumors before the reveal.

As for your comments about toys r us debacle, you're right, people shouldn't have gone there.

But what do people expect when Toys R Us is putting out a lie so blatant it's like saying the sky is gold. Toys R Us is trying to create the illusion that there are 15 hot toys. Not 10 or 20, but 15. Who makes them the arbiter of what's hot? By what metric? But ok, lets say they have a reasonable expectation to have a list of what they think is the hottest. Surely whatever is in the list should honestly be what the hottest toys are? Right?

Of that 15, only 1 is a next gen console, and that one costs more, performs poorer, and has pre-sold markedly less then the PS4, who isn't on the list. The list is a blatant lie.

Like I've said the issue is more complex. It isn't just about kids behaving like they do on a playground, but WHY are they specifically targeting Toys R US and not others? We've seen all sorts of stuff about Best Buy. The key to remember is that Toys R Us is the one that kept the hottest console of the year off their hottest list.

That again the ignoring of facts from ALL sides depending on the situation is what has created this level of discourse. You see this incident in a vacuum. I see it as the continuation of the obfuscation of reality, inherent in ALL FANBOYS that are FANBOYS OF WHATEVER, who drive the wedge that cause people from all sides to lower their standards and thus you have situations like this.

I agree that if you're black you'll encounter racism. If you're white like me, you'll still encounter sexism, racism (oh yes), homophobic, and just the downright annoying in hundreds of ways on both services. What I've said is, that through my experience, and everyone I know, it's far more of a problem on Xbox Live. We all know it personally man, we've all heard and been targeted for some sort of abuse.

..and nowhere have I stated that since this was the case in terms of Xbox Live for 360 vs PSN/PS+ for PS3....doesn't mean Xbox Live for Xbox One vs PS+ for PS4 will be the same. We could see a complete flipping of that, or we could see something closer to even. If I had to guess, I would guess that it would be closer to even this generation since so many people on Xbox Live are making the jump to PSN.

So again, what was it about my post you thought was so wrong or brought you to the feeling of resentment?

Why so much hate ? I am not a fan of either Microsoft or Sony or Nintendo, but I do not understand why there is so much animosity towards those companies.

At the end of the day, you buy what you like, but why discriminate the other camps. Regardless of the company, the people building those machine are trying their best to build something that they believe we please their markets. And Yes sometimes they will say something that you will not like and Yes they will make some mistakes. But hey! Who didn't do any mistake? I am pretty sure that the people screaming would not like others to constantly remind them with a negative tone about their mistakes!

Also those companies are more than that. There are people working in them. When you insult those companies you insult their employees, who are trying to do their best. At the end of the day, those companies are making the economy running so everybody has a job. I believe you should respect that. We should all be thankful that there is opportunity.

Even if you don't like a product, don't buy it, but respect the other people the same way you want to be treated when you buy a product.

Cod has more players on ps3 already. i never said MS was anti consumer but if i had to i would still go with the lesser of the two evils.
