Sony Japan's SVP Masayasu Ito talks about the PS4′s design process, possible new colors, the reason why the USB 3.0 technology was chosen, what he feels about the difference with the console’s most direct competitor and more.
From Gematsu: "Masayasu Ito will resign as representative director and deputy president of Sony Interactive Entertainment on October 1, and current director and deputy president Lin Tao will replace Ito, the company announced.
Kiichiro Urata, the head of Japan Asia partner development and relations for Sony Interactive Entertainment, will also be appointed company director."

As I was saying if people actually read comments on gemetsu before gematsu deleted some of the comments on there site. People was blaming Jim ryan for this guy retirement with there stupid theories like everyone where always do as well.

Sony is getting further and further away from doing anything right. I fear that after I play God of War Ragnarok my PS5 will be collecting dust. Lin Tao and Kiichiro Urata are both terrible for these positions. They should have learned some lessons this year, especially considering that Phil Spencer is taking Xbox all the way to the top. Even sales of the PS5 are weak in Japan. Pathetic.

Did I say I did? Go back and check. The difference is that I didn't auto jump to the default internet doomer comment like JBplusVB did and say omg these ppl are awful! They will ruin everything aaaahhh. Nobody on here knows who they are and chances are they could do an even better job.
Its so easy and quick for people like you to only remember the bad from Sony, heaven forbid people like you could have the brain power to remember the countless times they listened to the fans and gave them exactly what they wanted and all the vast improvements to the system they did and PSN as a whole, giving user requested features.
But nope! Forget the positives right? That better fits your narrative.
The greatest lie Microsoft ever told is getting people to think they are all for the fans and so pro consumer. You think the cost of GamePass won't double in time? Think again. They already tried with Gold and failed due to intense backlash. No company is entirely pro consumer, not Sony, not Nintendo and definitely not MS.
You have no idea the reasons why PS5 increased in cost and you will never know. Instead just jump to your extremist internet rage reply on how Sony is super anti consumer and its all bad and bla bla...
In the end everyone still wants a PS5 and they will continue to outsell the XSX/S. Not that I expect you to get that.
It's really only a matter of time before Microsoft acquires a reputable Japanese studio (other than Tango Gameworks). I'm thinking it'll be Spike Chunsoft since a few of their games have appeared on Game Pass recently.
They're actually gaining traction without even trying to cater to them.
That actually says a lot about how Sony is viewed on their own turf.
If Phil is taking Xbox to the top wouldn't there be a lot of XSX releases given it's been nigh on 2 years since it released. Their scheduling is absolutely horrendous
XBox all the way to the top? Seriously? Top of what? Top of the lowest of number of quality games produced per dollar spent chart?
So Ito will be transferred to Sony's electric vehicle division? That's a hell of a transition from Interactive Entertainment. I wish Ito well.

Bring back themes I need to make my home screen my own + I bought loads of themes on ps4 I would like to bring to ps5 as I own them just like with the games.

Playstation consoles since day one are already awesome, but one thing imo that only Playstation consoles do is it gets even better over time, so adding some features like this one is pretty much a sure a thing. ;)
You are right. Plus there are many many people on the PS Blog that are all banding together and asking for 1440p support to be implemented. One of hte execs did say that if enough people ask for it, then they will implement it. SO I believe they will. The fans that want it are making enough noise.
They want to focus on TVs, “I hope that PS5 will have a VR experience suitable for the PS5." No plans on a browser.
It's a maybe on 1440p. They had a VR controller patent last September.
They have plenty of patents for controllers and VR headsets, but you can't just whack everything to market and expect people to pay for it, especially right now. I'm eager for PSVR2, but fine with getting the PS5 launch out of the way before they talk about it.
In the meantime, they're boosting resolution and frame rates of some PSVR games, so I'd imagine they'll do the same for the new PSVR games in the pipeline too. Blood and Truth is now 90fps and higher resolution, faster loading on PS5 which is great, since the game was already beautiful!

Well then, can definitely see them adding this later. I remember PS3 launching with no in-game messaging and PS4 without a YouTube app. Such is the history of launch years.
I love how Sony likes to tell people what they want or need. No excuse for not having 1440p available at launch since, as he said, no technical limitation. There are a lot of games that play xbox/pc on monitors with 1440p resolution, in fact, most people don't have a 4k TV yet. I do, does not affect me, but typical Sony bs.
If you are in the market for a TV then 4K (preferably with HDR) is the way to go since the difference in price compared to a 1080p TV is fairly minimal. Of course, if you have a PC and are an avid gamer you would most likely have a 1440p* monitor although 4K and even 8K HDR monitors are also available.

I have an LG 80cm 4K HDR monitor which works very well with my standard PS4 such that if a game supports HDR then it is detected by my monitor and displayed accordingly. Unfortunately, some HDR 4K TV's don't detect HDR-enabled games from the base PS4.
It would be nice to have the PS5 support 1440p but it is quite likely that the majority of PS5 users would have 1080p or 4K HDR TV's and to a lesser extent, monitors. If there is enough of a demand for 1440p for the PS5 then it is possible that Sony will allow this in a later update.

The dual analog has the longer grips (like the DS4) and the concave thumbsticks (like the DS4) so they had something tangible to work with.
