Not dying but it is in decline. After MW2 the hardcore started to dislike it. And then Black Ops 2 was the first modern COD to sell less than its predecessor, so this means the casual gamer has realized that the game has grew stagnate.

So in other words Madden isn't dead but it's just not what it use to be. Halo isn't dead but it's just not what it is use to be.

Gamers? You know how many girls on fb are like "playing cod lol" just because everyone else plays it? A lot of my friends don't even play other games. They just play cod. I don't consider them serious gamers either. BF4 is catching up. That takes more skill to play and that is why it doesn't get as many sells.

Well, last time I checked, most people play games to have fun not to "show their skills". If it's fun, people are going to play it. If it's not, then they wont.

BTW, who put you in charge of deciding whether someone is a serious gamer (oxymoron) or not? The fact that a lot of people play COD is a testament to the fact that it is fun for those people. Play what you want and let others play what they want. Just because YOU don't like it doesn't mean it's not a fun game.

BTW, I'm personally burned out on it (have been for several versions now) and not buying the next version.

But I don't think you were talking about Farmville. You were calling out COD fans and saying they were not gamers.

Video games and gamers have been around a LOT longer than the FPS genre has and BF does not set the definition of who is a gamer and who is not. Don't be so quick to label people you don't even know. I would say it's elitist attitudes like yours that put more people off from trying BF than anything else.

CoD has it's fun side. If you like quick arcade shooters and pick up and play games than CoD is a great game. It is pretty much the same thing every year but honestly I just played CoD4 to compare it to BO2 and there where huge changes. Don't believe me? check it out for yourself.

Anyways, I think it has it's place. Time to get off the hate train for many people. It's starting to be not cool to hate on CoD.

I plan on buying the next few CODs because it's fun and personally better than Battlefield. People play Madden and 2K basketball every year and they're still going on strong. The only other FPS game that'll catch my attention is Titanfall.

I don't get all the hate for CoD. It's the Quake of the 2000's. It's become a sports franchise, kind of like Paintball. Paintball is awesome in real life but try Greg Hastings game and you'll see how the fun doesn't translate well. Now make a paintball game in a military setting a la CoD and you have a masterpiece. What I'm trying to say is, take it for what it is. Don't try to make it something it's clearly not.

What I am really interested to see is how they feel about releasing another COD in 12 months time after titanfall, BF4, KZ:SF and destiny have made their impacts. I have a hard time believing COD will be the dominant FPS next november, and who knows what next E3 will bring. Exciting times ahead.
