EA says Apple gave them “truckload of money” to delay PvZ 2 on Android, Apple denies

It was revealed during an internal town hall meeting held by Electronic Arts that Apple paid them “truckload” of money to delay the launch of Android version of the Plants vs Zombies 2, a sequel to the highly successful and critically acclaimed mobile game, Plants vs Zombies.

lolz, that's really funny, but honestly I hate when they do stuff like this. What is the point besides hurting the consumer, this doesn't sway people as much as they think. People will wait for Andriod is not like they are going to say oh man PvZ 2 is delayed on Andriod let me get an IOS system now!!

Apple is a bag of scum, they have great products if you like being told what to like by Apple and what you can do with them.

They aren't that bad. They sell tools and software.

The tools have specific software support.. There are well informed apple customers as well as the "sheep" - id be pretty stuck without some of my apple-only hardware and software. Other people wouldn't be. Apple aren't controlling my preferences, there just aren't good alternatives for some usage scenarios.

I have coworkers that have iPhones and are very happy with them, mostly, though...I have seen the generic hipster with them trying to impress each other with the latest model.

I can't wait for it to come to Android. I upgraded my phone last year from iOS to android. I tried downloading PVZ2 on my old iPhone and it said that it was incompatible with it because it doesn't have a front facing camera. What is that all about? Why would the missing camera be an issue?

EA almost certainly shop around for the best promotional partners for every release. Its part of the system now and i wouldn't put the blame entirely at Apple's door. EA, Activision, Bethesda do this with their DLC all the time and likely have a team cementing these sort of deals, probably to do with advertising revenue and placement rather than actual money.

In the long run it probably helps sales, it just sucks when you're not the preferred platform.

PvZ2 first on Apple devices because Apple gave them extra $$.... Give the guys at Apple some credit, they arent that stupid. It's not like the game is a OS mobile device seller. Sorry it just isnt that popular.

It would be more like that there is far more profit to be made from iOS first before they release it into the Android world of major piracy problems. This is just a fact. If someone has both devices and would want to play the game, they "most likely" will purchase the iOS version and if they modded their Android like many of us have, would likely illegally download the game for free. I buy my games but many dont. iOS helps developers more than we realise.

But I wish EA would bring back a good NBA game..... 2k seems to be just coasting along with the minor improvements without any major competition.

Who cares? Either way the game wasn't as good as the first one and the inclusion of making it F2P ruined whatever fun there was to be had.
