How many times will the guy in Ryse shove his sword through peoples' neck in this game?

I watched him take down like 3 guys and he killed atleast 2 of them with the same neck thrust. Hell the same finisher was used when Conan Obrien was interviewing the devs too.

The last Deep Down gameplay didn't look as good as the first footage at PS4 reveal, the old footage looked MILES better than today's footage, sorry.

Oh, and deep down is closed doors and has 3 to 4 enemies on screen, not like Ryse where there are hundreds of NPCs and AIs and huge places.

And if people say "Well they like Titanfall better than Killzone." "Therefor they are biased." there's other outlets that marvel over Titan over most of the shooters now.

I've seen articles where IGN promotes and hypes PS4 like they did with 360 back in the day. But aren't writing articles that are talking down to X1 in any form other than concerns for the console.

There's no "100's of enemies", most are just the same ones used over and over, it's basically copy pasted over the screen. Graphically with particles and direct feed footage, Deep Down is miles better than Ryse.

Those giant monsters in Ryse look great. :-). Ryse looks pretty but does little outside of it. Animation looks off, particles look weak and short lived, fire looks poor, environments look tight and it all moves slowly. I think MS just wanted a graphical showcase at any cost. Deep Down looks like a game that happens to be good looking.

Crytek is one of those guys who put graphics over gameplay. Seriously, they put out a great looking game, but It sucks once you get your hands on it. I love TimeSplitters though.

Ryse is a game full of Hidden QTE's. They didn't change it at all. They just hid the buttons.

based on the gameplay from last night, deep down appeared to be 60fps, and probably native 1080p versus barely keep pace at 30fps, and probably 1080p.

It's close, but despite the unfair comparison Ryse looks just as good if not better. That last Deep down "screenshot" isn't from gameplay. Most are from cutscenes, and Ryse is purposely making gameplay and cut scenes look the exact same. While Deep Down looks fantastic, the cutscenes look much much better than gameplay...so I see what they are trying to do here, but still not a fair comparison. Both look awesome though, it appears you can't go wrong with either.

From these screenshots, Deep Down is better looking, but not by a wide margin.

Also, Ryse is a launch game. I don't think Deep Down is. Deep Down may benefit from more development time in all honesty.

Ryse may have started development on 360, but has went through some radical changes (Kinect only, first person camera) and is being hurried for Xbox One this November versus a game that very little is known and may still be a year away from release.

I love the way that everyone is missing the fact that Deep Down is a randomly generated co-op dungeon crawler. Yeah, it looks very very very pretty (i'm sorry, but you have severe visual issues if you can't see the difference, it is obvious even in 480p off screen) but the actual premise sounds incredible and could lead to hundreds and hundreds of hours of gameplay. Something I don't see Ryse having. If they nail this it could be the console equivalent of Diablo 2's success on PC. Add Monster Hunter / Dragon's Dogma style combat and i'm sold 100 times over.

Here's my opinion.

DEEP DOWN - Online game fighting all types of monsters, it's got that nextgen look about it.

RYSE - Looks excellent as well, and is built on an engine already pushing fine graphics. CRYSIS3, and others coming.

I'm also looking forward to seeing what Unreal 4 brings.

On top of that like I said before its easy for a game to look good when you are not really rendering anything on screen in that live demo it was never no more than two objects on screen at once vs. a game with 100 hundred men battles
That is why games like the TLOU can look good cause its slow as shit and there ain never that much going on on the screen at once

Perhaps it would be more of an exact gameplay match to compare Ryse on XboxOne to Shadow of the beast on the PS4.

Deep Down has a very impressive trailer that seems to convince me that, for fire and particle effects, the PS4 will be better.

The XboxOne has been skilled at showing off arcade feeling types of games such as Killer Instinct, Dead Rising 3, Forza 5 and previously Kinect title Ryse. Even Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break have an 'arcadey' feel. By arcadey I mean that they favour very colourful, fast, frames.

That strategy worked on the Xbox360 but the slow burn of the Playstation games library now seems cemented as a feature of the brand. You just know that if exclusive PS4 games like Rime can be shown off so early that the PS4 , later on its life, might be almost otherwordly beautiful in its storytelling. Remember The Unfinished Swan and , now, Puppeteer on the PS3.

The only problem for the PS4 is that it is quite easy for me to think that I might have more fun going straight from Puppeteer in to the Xbox One line up, having my fill of beautiful arcadey eye candy and then, a couple of years down the line, enjoy the fruits of the PS4's line up at that point when I feel, once more, a particular hunger for the artsy games that Sony love to put out (and when there's a Naughty Dog game out of course).

It's as if Sony have spoiled me with some slow cooked steak that took 6 years to make but now I feel like having a quick, tasty, hamburger with tons of relish on it. Because Microsoft always have pretty, fun, games early on you know. It will work in their favour to some extent early on. With the XboxOne you'll get some great graphic designers setting their own, more bold, aesthetic path that is different from the more subtle Sony style. If it was only trying to do what the PS4 does gameswise it would, of course, have no unique selling point.

Ryse is being rushed for American release..

Deep Down isn't and will be released in Feb in the Japan Launch of the PS4..

Besides Ryse animation are great but the transitions at this point are HORRIBLE.. And really its just a blood fest.

Both games looks very average, Ryse is a game with current gen graphics, few characters at combat and a lot of QTE boring gameplay. In other hand, DD looks like Demon's souls but with low resolution graphics, boring scenarios and the game is in a very early stage of development. I'll put my money in The witcher 3.

See this is messed up, they didnt even use gameplay footage for Deep Down but they took Pics that were from a Cgi trailer and comparing it to actual gameplay on Ryse. Of course Deep Down is going to look better using Cgi Pics. The way they compared this would be like Comparing the new Dead Rising 3 Cgi trailer to Killzone. Until you get a side by side comparison of actual gameplay then there is nothing to say. Also I want to say Deep Down is Using a brand New game Engine while Ryse is using the Same engine from current gen consoles. You guys are acting like xbox wouldnt be able to support Deep Down. And also Deep down isnt confirmed as a Ps4 exclusive forever it sounds like it maybe a timed exclusive if you look at the facts. They said Deep Down on PS4 we dont have it for Xbox.
