Will Titanfall Eventually Come to PlayStation 4

EA’s new franchise “Titanfall” coming to the Xbox One and PC early next year has easily become next-gen’s most anticipated game, and with all the hype it is receiving it is only a matter of time before EA will bring it over to the PlayStation 4 as well.

It would be nice to have it on PS4 but until then I'll be playing it on my PC. I'll get the REAL exclusives on my PS4 and play them from anywhere in the house on Vita.

u got owned3872d ago

I think it will come to PS4 eventually. A year from launch date.

GrieverSoul3872d ago

Titanfall is the next generation Biochock kind of deal. First will release on Xbone and one year later will come to PS4.

I believe it wont take one year. Im a guessing a 6 month mark.

miyamoto3872d ago (Edited 3872d ago )

Knowing EA is like knowing Capcom when it comes to platform exclusivity.

whoyouwit043872d ago

Same goes for deep down or any 3rd party exclusive.

SanMarco3872d ago

Doesn't look good IMO, they're are much better games coming.

Ron_Danger3872d ago

@who

Good chance Deep Down is staying Sony exclusive since they helped Capcom create the Pante Ray engine that the game runs on.

torchic3872d ago (Edited 3872d ago )

@miyamoto @whoyou

deep down is being co-developed with SCE, so it's definitely exclusive.

in fact the way I understood, there will be more PS4 exclusives from Capcom using Panta Rhei engine.

nobody from EA has come out and said that Titanfall is exclusive, not even Microsoft.

hazardman3872d ago

@ whoyouwit,

I don't know about Deep Down. If heard correct on the Deep Down presentation video. It seems to be a SCEA/Capcom collabo!

tokugawa3872d ago

unless microsoft get out cash, then it could well come

gaffyh3872d ago

As long as it's not being published by MS, it will definitely be coming to PS4.

Ripsta7th3872d ago (Edited 3872d ago )

#Ron- same goes for MS,they have their Devs working closely w Respawn Entertainment
Haha so when Sony works w a third party is a collaboration but MS does it is timed exclusive, WOW

dlocsta3872d ago

Respawn and EA have already said it will NOT be going to PS4. It is NOT a timed exclusive. They however did not mention anything about sequels.

Boody-Bandit3872d ago

We heard the same doubts about Mass Effect and Bioshock not coming to the PS3. How did that go again?

It's not a matter of if but when.

ImG2theB3872d ago

Not unless Sony invests in the cloud. Titanfall relies heavily on the dedicated servers which is why they didn't include PS4 at launch. It needs more than last gen technology to run.

DragonKnight3872d ago

@ImG2theB: Your ignorance is astounding.

johndoe112113872d ago

My ps4 brothers and sisters, don't hate me for saying this but, WHO CARES. Don't get me wrong, I think titan fall looks like an awesome game and if it comes out for the ps4 then great i'll definitely get it but from the games i've seen that are coming out for the ps4 for the first couple of months, it blows my mind to think what we can expect for the next couple of years.

If EA wants to be a dollar an hour hooker for microsoft then good for them. I will be more than contented with the games that will be on the ps4 for it's life cycle, not playing one game isn't really going to phase me. But hey, that's just my two cents.

CYCLEGAMER3872d ago

How do u guys know that ms won't just fork out the extra cash to keep the game exclusive???

solidjun53872d ago

"Not unless Sony invests in the cloud. Titanfall relies heavily on the dedicated servers which is why they didn't include PS4 at launch. It needs more than last gen technology to run."

You're kidding. Right?

ImG2theB3872d ago

@dragonknight

http://www.respawn.com/news...

Titanfall engineer Jon Shiring explained on Respawn.com how his team's game -- as well as other Xbox One and PC titles -- will take advantage of Microsoft's Azure cloud service.

When Respawn couldn't afford the cash or manpower to acquire the "hundreds of thousands of servers" necessary to put players in dedicated servers, "The Xbox group came back to us with a way for us to run all of these Titanfall dedicated servers" in the form of the cloud. Shiring says that also "lets us push games with more server CPU and higher bandwidth, which lets us have a bigger world, more physics, lots of AI, and potentially a lot more than that!"

thekhurg3872d ago

@ImG2theB:

Sony has dedicated servers. Nothing except the money Microsoft gave EA is stopping a day one release of Titanfall on the PS4.

ImG2theB3872d ago

@thekhurg
No, they don't.

Yes, because that makes sense. Buy a video game a second time for a lesser experience...

If you have a PC, why buy anything but exclusives for console? There a lot more Indie games there too, most of which are already out in fact.

@Thrust PC has thousands more.

@Count Indeed. Half the fanboys call the game crap while the others claim it's coming but can wait.. Yet still buy it on PC first because they cannot in fact.. Wait..

thrust3872d ago

The ps4 has loads of indie games, in fact I think it has about 20 on release day it's like the ouya.

Count3872d ago

He just wanted to emphasize how the wait wasn't a big deal for him. But yeah, once you get down to it and sense the BS in his post. It's clear to see that he does have a problem with it.

mediate-this3872d ago

And thats what im trying to understand, P.C is harped upon by people but when a game comes put as p.c n xbone exclusive then p.c is okay again.

I would think people would not have a lot of time to play titanfall on their p.c while playing all their exclusives on their ps4.

malokevi3872d ago

Lol, you packaged up the savage hypocrisies with a neat little bow.

Anything but the truth will do, apparently.

NukaCola3872d ago

Thrust,

You guys are childish. After years of you complaining the PS3 didn't do as good as the 360 on indies, Sony is going full force and doing near-Steam quality and support for the indi community and now it's a negative for Sony since between Vita PS3 and PS4 they have almost 50 indi games in the works. What garbage fan boy logic.

Anything games that come exclusively to Playstation. Games that release exclusively for PC/Wii/Xbox are clearly either timed releases or not worth any "true gamer's" time.

DURRRRRRRRRRR I LIKE PLAYSTATION DURRRRRRRRRRRRRR

HaMM4R3872d ago

Thats a pretty stupid comment. Lets be honest the game is coming to PS4. The games is part of the 3 year rotation and do you really see EA going a whole year without making and PS money? I highly doubt it.

StoutBEER3872d ago

We already know the answer to this without being told the answer. Yes unless it sells well then Microsoft may invest the money to keep it exclusive.
But I get to play it before you! Nanana boo boo stick your head in doo doo. JK X)

@ImG2theB

Titanfall is also releasing on the PC and 360 as well.

How is the 360 able to run the game while the PS4 can't? What's the reason to even have an Xbox One if the power of the cloud can make the 360 be more powerful than the PS4?

Microsoft's touting of the power of the cloud is a joke.

mediate-this3872d ago

I totally agree with you on that, this whole power of the cloud is just ridiculous to listen. I know its viable, but the way micro spouts it off as only on xbone when the 360 is able to play it.

One thing alot of gamers have in common despite the platform some of you choose is we dont take things at face value, we question the ridiculous.

Ill just let time tell me if the cloud can do what micro says it can. Regardless xbone has awesome games i wanna play, ps4 has awesome games i want to play also.

Evil_Ryu3871d ago

Thats great but not everybody can afford a $1200+ gaming rig and a $400 dollar console...again good for you. But for me $500 Xbox one sounds alot better then what you are going to pay for pc and ps4.

GamingKing3871d ago

This game looks very good but I can't afford an Xbox One way too expensive for & to be honest the Ps4 does a better job & is much cheaper .

Ryto3871d ago

Thing is, when EA realise that the PS4 is gonna sell like hot cakes, massively outselling the Xbone. That type of install base will make EA jump ship. The publisher is a pure money maker (which isnt a bad thing at all), money comes with the bigger install base. I reckon, after a couple months there will be an announcement.

I don't believe any game from 3rd party publishers will remain platform exclusive unless one of the big 3 funds development

Speed-Racer3872d ago

You hit the nail on the head.

Mystogan3872d ago

If Microsoft WANTS this to stay exclusive. It WILL stay exclusive.
They'll even acquire Respawn if it comes to it.

They have two options.

1.Throw a lot of money at EA. Thus keeping it off of PS4.

2.Throw a lot of money at Respawn. Thus acquiring them. And keep it for PC and Xbox.

Microsoft has a lot of money. And the Xbox division have 1 billion dollars to spend. Sony doesn't even have half of that.

If they really want it to stay exclusive it will stay exclusive.

Angeljuice3872d ago

You can't just buy companies unless they want/need to be sold. Many have offered to buy occulus, for crazy sums, but they're not for sale and won't budge on that stance.
Money offers possibilities, but it needs to be combined with circumstance and opportunity.

despair3872d ago

@Mystogan

yeaa.. not really how it works. There are a lot more factors to consider than money. Plus you can't just buy a company by throwing money at them.

mediate-this3872d ago

Is respawn owned by e.a? Or do they have so e sort of three game dedl

crider7713872d ago

Microsoft also said PS3 will NEVER get the original Mass Effect... Well that didn't turn out as planned for them.

bjmartynhak3872d ago

Does someone knows how is the deal with Gears of War?

I know that Epic owns the IP, but each individual games is owned by MS? Or, have MS funded the games?

malokevi3872d ago (Edited 3872d ago )

"You can't just buy companies unless they want/need to be sold. "

It's called money, and everybody wants/needs it.

Thehyph3872d ago

I severely doubt your argument.
A few points:
1) Respawn presumably exists because of an ideological conflict between Infinity Ward and Activision. They probably don't want to be under anyone's boot as long as they don't have to be.
2) Respawn Entertainment will fight tooth and nail to keep their IP's. The Titanfall IP is theirs. EA is just the publisher...
3) PS4 is using the same architecture as Xbox One and PC. Why would EA pass up on that large of an install base if development costs of the game are already covered? If a PS4 version of the game is not already being made, then it could be ported very quickly.

I don't see it happening.

Magicite3872d ago

doesn't mean they will shed all the money they have even if its not bringing profit

MrBeatdown3872d ago

While we're coming up with ridiculously unlikely scenarios, Microsoft should buy Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty too.

MS has lots and lots of moneys so of course it's possible.

DialgaMarine3872d ago

The fact you're missing is that M$ buying out Respawn or throwing money at EA will come nowhere near to the ammount they could potentially make by going multi platform. And that's especially if the PS4 sells like hotcakes and there's high demand for the title. EA wants money, and going multiplat will make them money, they'll be on that shit like white on rice.

catfishhbillyy3872d ago

you sir are wrong, if you have the money you can buy anything. every man has his price.

xKugo3872d ago

LOL if you think Microsoft is going to use that billion dollars for this game then you are out of your mind. There is no amount of money MS could throw at EA to keep this title exclusive. EA will not ignore the already huge fan-base of the pS4 because they would make money money by selling it to us rather than keeping it on one platform. Btw, how do you know how much money the Xbox division has to spend? Furthermore, how do you know how much Sony has to spend? I'm sure this is just random jargon coming out of your ass, but if you could explain then please, do.

P.S: You can't just buy a company dipshit, they have to agree to be acquired. The fact that you either ignored or didn't know this just goes to enforce the fact that Xbox fans are the dumbest in the gaming industry.

Ryto3871d ago

Thing is, Microsoft's shareholders dont like the gaming division (one saying they should sell it and separate it from the company, one of its LARGEST shareholders), they cant throw endless amount of money at things, realistically, M$ might have more money as a whole, but id bet quite a fair deal of money that Sony spends more on its gaming division.

Or from a Japanese companies. Really don't think Xbox will ever get those niche atlus games.

@mystogan
BioShock and mass effect say hi.

Mystogan3872d ago (Edited 3872d ago )

About bioshock and Mass effect,
Maybe they didn't really want it to stay exclusive or they didn't have the budget to spend. And I'm pretty sure they didn't pay for Bioshock, Nor the first Mass Effect.

otakukidd3872d ago (Edited 3872d ago )

Those same things can be said about titan fall. Also at least the first mass effect was paid for. That was the reason it took so long for it to come to the ps3. Actually they had to do what ninja gaiden did to release it on the ps3, release it under a different name, mass effect trilogy. Also the amount of money the would have to pay(millions) to moneyhat this game to exclusivity, they could make a real exclusive themselves. Look back at gta 4. They paid 50 million for 2 dlc which eventually still came to ps3. That's at least have a new exclusive right there. 3rd party exclusives don't help the industry. They take a game that's coming to both consoles already only go to one and takes money out of that consoles budget. So instead of 2 games and ones exclusive. You get 1 game and you never know if it will also go to the other console.

Sorry for the long post.

miyamoto3872d ago (Edited 3872d ago )

yup like Guilty Gear Xrd, Deep Down, Yakuza Ishin, etc etc

But Sony did allow Activision to publish their exclusive IP on xbox 360 and Wii - i.e. The Amazing Spider-Man.

So titanfall on ps4 is inevitable.

"Will Titanfall Eventually Come to PlayStation 4"

Yes, eventually. next

H0RSE3872d ago

Anyone convinced it will, is just wishful thinking and/or educated guesses.

AznGaara3872d ago (Edited 3872d ago )

Here's the better question... Do you think EA would LIMIT their potential sales in anyway shape or form? If you say yes... then you're delusional. MS does not that kind of money.

H0RSE3872d ago (Edited 3872d ago )

I never denied that it would come to PS4, but based on my already 5 disagrees, this is what people saw... My post is nothing more than an factual observation - unless you have insider info, claiming it will come to PS4 is nothing more than what I stated.

If Titanfall does come to PS4, I can see it now - all the people saying "I told you so," playing it off like they had insider knowledge to the event, rather than acknowledging it for what it was - making a claim that happened to turn out correct.

I'm the kind of person that doesn't make "concrete" statements unless I know they are concrete, and I also don't like it when others do this as well. Even if it is a fact, don't state it as such unless you know it is a fact.

Ripsta7th3872d ago

@Azn- what makes you think capcom will?

Hercules1893872d ago

Going by that logic we should be seeing deep down on Xbox one also.

AznGaara3872d ago

Don't worry, I won't bother waiting, you're probably off raging at someone else in some other topic already.

1) ???
2) You didn't, it's a direct response for a PS4 article, so guess what the comments are about.
3) You said "exclusive to PC, xbox 360, and xbox one.", which is also called MS exclusive.

Physical media. Unfortunately the way games are going these days game servers will eventually be shut down and you can stare at the menu and wish you could play the game again.

littletad865d ago

This is why reading is so important. Nothing to do with digital or physical media. The game, which is online only, is being delisted because of DDOS and other hacker attacks. The case got so bad that only six players in the world log on. For PC. Rather than fix it, they continued to sell the game, broken as it is, and only now just decided to call it quits. But please, go on thinking what you will.

Ethereal864d ago

I'm aware of the DDOS attacks and that this case is not typical. This game would eventually have it's servers shutdown regardless of the current situation so that is a moot point. My comment was in a general sense and that there are instances in which games can be preserved physically when official support ends.

Let's recap your first sentence. I said, "the way GAMES are going these days" indicating a broader stroke than just this game. I agree, reading IS important. I was simply stating the obvious downsides of the digital marketplaces and online only trends in games these days. I could even make the argument that the online only offering which has allowed hacker manipulation has impacted the preservation of this great game. My comment is valid in the general sense and thank you for your permission to continue to think what I will.
