'No European retailer' will ship GTA 5 before Monday, September 16

No European retailer will ship Grand Theft Auto 5 prior to September 16,Simply Games has revealed to VideoGamer.com.

Responding to concerns of receiving Grand Theft Auto 5 in time for the September 17 release date, Simply Games sad:

"We can confirm 100% that we guarantee to ship your copy(s) of this game on Monday September 16th. Every online retailer in Europe will be shipping this game on that specific date – not any earlier."

So one retailer confirms that all European retailers won't release it early?

Am I missing something, or does it seem that a single company can't legitimately make this claim?

I think SimplyGames just want a bit of attention for GTA V since it's priced higher than everywhere else there, it's even £10 cheaper on Amazon.

It was here (Czech Republic) just like this for many year, then GAME from UK came here and started screaming at all those "villain" retailers, who put their games out before release date...it's pretty annoying because in EU you have to wait few days after game gets released in US and many times spoilers come sooner than game in my country too : (

Its pathetic. Posting the day before release. In one way or another it kills online retailers. If the retailer does as told and does standard delivery customers get pissed and never buy from them again because their friends who bought from a brick and mortar store got theirs before them. If the retailer spends extra money to get it next day delivery all profit for that game is gone. Once again selfish publishers.

Do people forget how big Europe is? And the many different postage services for each country. I can speak for the UK and the number of issues I've had with the royal mail is ridiculous, I have had games not being delivered on release because of our postal service.

This answers some questions. When I pre-ordered GTA5 on amazon I did wonder why they gave first class shipping for free. Now I guess its for when GTA5 arrives on the 18th and they are swamped with complaints and wont have to provide refunds.

At least in the past, Amazon gave you a full delivery refund if your item didnt't arrive by the time stated by them if by first class post. Guess this won't apply for GTA5.
