Rayman Legends Vita Receiving Missing Content For Free

"While the Wii U version of Rayman Legends appeared to be the only one with all of the content available at the moment, the Vita one will soon join it as the best version of the game – at least if you’re able to go online and patch it."

Good news, but why on earth were they taken out in the first place? Im sure some sales were lost because of that

Th4Freak3879d ago

"Due to a longer development time than expected, we couldn’t initially include the Invasion Mode – essentially, a second take on existing Rayman Legends maps -- in the Vita version of the game."

They had 2 options, delay the Vita version or do what they did. IMO they took the right choice because if they delayed the game it would have hurt the sales a lot more.

Oh yes they did! I've had the chance to play both the Wii U version at home, and Vita at work and I must say that I'm more than pleased with my purchases. Honestly, I wouldn't have had any other way... Though the Vita version doesn't quite hold up to the Wii U version it's still up there and now with the missing content made available for FREE, it's definitely a step closer to its big brother on the Wii U. I've spent some time comparing the two and honestly The Vita version is just as good despite missing some very minor visual details, lowered resolution, and not quite holding up to a solid 60fps. If I had to choose one it would be the Wii U version right now but after this patch it really won't matter because the game will be complete, love both versions!

Game includes 40 origins maps, so not sure why people are upset.

Your basically getting Legends + Origins for one price.

Transporter473879d ago

Well as long as we get the content for free it doesn't matter to me.

RedSoakedSponge3879d ago

awesome!

this was the version i wanted to get but the idea of missing out on 28 levels was turning me away.

now my worries are gone :D

Since I bought the hard copy, Does this mean that my Ps Vita memory card going to take a really big hit? I would imagine this will be delivered in the form of DLCs?

Skate-AK3879d ago

It will be in a patch. Yeah it will be at least 1gb I would guess.

rainslacker3879d ago

I think it uses existing assets from the game, just some code with how the levels is different. I'm not familiar with the details of the mode though as I haven't cracked open the game yet. It probably won't be too big, unless it comes along with a big patch.

Williamson3879d ago (Edited 3879d ago )

So I guess this makes the vita version the best version...again. I don't mean the other versions are inferior but to have the exact same game as the console versions(touch features same as Wii u) , and to play on the go/short 10 min sessions makes it the version to own.

Will There Ever Be A New Rayman Game?

Ubisoft barely have a leg to stand on lately, so do they need to crack open the vaults and return platforming royalty to glory for some goodwill?

We need Rayman 4, they could make a great platformer game if they wanted. With the open hub levels and the like.

Better than relying on Rabbids and Assassins Creed all the time

Profchaos50d ago

Yeah agree id love a Rayman 2 style 3d platform game over another 2d platformer I know people loved legends but it never gelled with me same as Rayman 1 back in the day on PS it just felt like a average platformer with sonic and Mario offering something better on what was then last gen hardware

Terry_B50d ago

Yes..but I am sure it won't be the Rayman game fans want. Not from the company that is Ubisoft today.

mastershredder50d ago (Edited 50d ago )

Ancel is retired from games. His hoodlum/rabbid team are doing their own thing. It would not be the same if Ubisoft did.

Profchaos50d ago

Probably far more profitable to make low effort Rabbids games aimed at kids over a next Rayman

Chocoburger50d ago

Experience points, skill trees to fill up, level gating, endless menial tasks and side quests, constantly scrounging for resources. Always having to upgrade your gear. A.KA. "The Ubisoft effect".

No thanks, don't ruin Rayman's legacy.

Profchaos50d ago

Sure there will be it'll launch right alongside the next splinter cell

Rayman Legends - 10 Years of Legendary Platforming

Rayman Legends made its debut 10 years ago today, and has been launched on nearly every gaming platform since.

HankHill232d ago

Too bad Ubisoft only cares about live service games now. Maybe one day they'll make a new Rayman game.

Venoxn4g232d ago

Great games.. would be cool to get qn Origins remaster at least..I know that many of the levels are in Legends, but still

Outlawzz232d ago

Loved this game but wish they would create a new Rayman 3d game.
