Does Creative Assembly's ambitious title conquer all or does it fall as flat as the civilization it dramatizes?

Man this game is freaking enormous!!! Love it, get my money's worth.

It certainly is a very big game, and if content is all you care about you certainly will get your money's worth.

But the actual content of the game--the new UI, the new battle systems, the pointless alterations to the campaign map and arbitrary army limits--the actual rulesets of the game are just awful.

The game really won't be playable for several weeks, months or years--however long it takes to crack into the data pack and alter some of the fundamental mechanics that are implemented so poorly.

The issues you mentioned isn't game breaking like Shogun 2's realm divide. While the new UI is a annoying it's easy to get used to and the changes for the most part, made the game better. Diplomacy actually works in this game which is a real plus.
