WOW. I have quite a few coins saved up! Mini's March Again looks like pretty fun time waster so I might pick that up :)

I'm grabbing Pilotwings. Anyone know if you can upgrade for a $1 on Wii U after if you download the Wii version with coins?

EDIT: I can confirm that games purchased with rewards coins are discounted for the Wii U versions. :D

do you need coins for platinum items or is the status enough?

Concertoine3885d ago

Been really let down by the offers as of late. Anyone know how long it'll take to get platinum awards in the mail? Never ordered them until this year.

KillerPwned3885d ago

I think it was around Dec I got mine.

robparko3885d ago

KillerPwn is right, you'll get your platinum reward in December.

Yep.. nothing this month for me. A couple of them interest me a bit, but not enough to spend coins on them.

Having said that, I have over 500 coins expiring on July 1. So the closer I get to that date, the more impulsive I'll get most likely. You can't let that many coins just disappear lol.

robparko3885d ago

lol Yea, letting 500 coins vanish would just plain suck.

ScubaSteve13885d ago

sigh i have 575 coins i have nothing to spend it on

lizard812883885d ago

Oh, good. The 3ds gets the same games over and over again. Nothing like getting DSi games for the 3DS... I have like 1500 coins and I haven't spent them in so long. I would like better rewards than a screen saver and shoe laces. I know they are free, but so are religious flyers from Jehovah's Witnesses, it doesn't make it any less annoying.

Nintendo really needs to start releasing actual 3DS Nintendo eShop games. That would make the Club Nintendo rewards more attractive for a ton of people.

wingman32x3885d ago

I agree. It's getting a little ridiculous. This is the third time I've seen the Mario vs. DK offered(One was an elite reward option, but still), and this is the second time I've seen Art Academy.

I know that they've got a smaller selection to work with compared to the Wii, but there's a lot of 3DS downloadable games they could offer. Take stuff like Mutant Mudds and Pushmo. They're not new anymore, but at the same time they're fresh.

Hopefully they add more variety to the 3DS rotation soon. I don't really want to see Metroid II for the third time next month.

Misaka_x_Touma3885d ago

I know right. Heck if Nintendo can just take this to the next level on eShop as a real Service. Let you use those coin on any game that you can get off eShop then that would be amazing.

Wii U games that still haven't been ported to Switch

The Nintendo Switch is potentially nearing its lifespan, and several Wii U games haven't found their way over as ports yet.

I think it's better to leave games like AC: Amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash forgotten on the Wii U. Best case, they are mediocre games; worse case, they are very bad. It was a dark time for the Wii U, and the first only exists to sell Amiibo cards, whereas the second was put together in a couple of months with a shoestring budget, and it shows.

The rest of the list does have some really cool games, though. I would love to see a remake of Star Fox Zero with decent controls, and Xenoblade X doesn't require that much modification to work.

How would XCX work without dual screens functionality?

Cacabunga2d ago

Same as Paper Mario color splash. One of the best wiiu games and getting even better with dual screen. Same reason why i prefer Splatoon 1

This article leaves out Nintendo's most controversial game to date devils Third.
I personally found the cover system really fun in that one compared to at the time most fps games completely lacking one.

Stevonidas2d ago

Devil's Third is HIGHLY underrated.

repsahj2d ago

They should remake Starfox to the switch 2. Very beautiful game during gamecube days.

Kirby is always ignored or forgotten by people, so good to see it mentioned here.
Play Kirby Canvas Curse on DS, and then play Rainbow Curse on Wii U, they're really fun and unique 'platformers' without any actual jumping.

How long until they get sued and it gets taken down? I say a month or 2

PRIMORDUS5d ago

Sued for what? It's just an emulator no ROMs are with it. ROMs are easy to get anyway, but with iPhone you can't just copy and paste like Android unless it's jail broken I think. Anyway Nintendo should be more concerned with their ROMs up to torrent for years for all of their concoles, but then again they can't do nothing about it, they never will and I love it. 🤣

NotoriousWhiz5d ago

As long as it isn't emulating the Switch, it'll be fine.

RonnySins5d ago

Naaah! Don't want to waste time emulating on iPhone.

Knightofelemia5d ago

Won't belong before Nintendo bangs on Apple's door to have the emu removed. Like I say you take down one six more take it's place. Problem is people are putting emu's on such stupid platforms. The good emus are the ones not on stupid platforms like a red target. The good emu's are word of mouth and keep a low profile.
