Battlefield 4 launches with 10 maps and 7 game modes

DICE reveals that Battlefield 4 will launch with no less than 10 multiplayer maps and 7 game modes.

Well 10 maps really plays like 15-20 maps depending on game mode.

In BF3 playing Metro on Conquest, your playing a completely different part of the map than on rush, yet it's the same map, so essentially it's two maps.

I'm assuming it's going to be the same for BF4.

10 isn't bad. Plus like 20 maps for DLC. Its a shame I'll have to dish out £40 extra just for the full experience. I almost feel like i'm buying half a game. Oh well. Still looks better than most FPS's coming out this year.

£95, games will be retailing £55 as evidenced by the fact that almost all game stores have them priced that way.

making 20BF maps, optimising them and balncing them is not easy.

£40 for 20 dlc maps, vehicles, modes etc whatever they come out with later is not bad actually

Its like £2 per map, in the end you'll end up playing your favourite 3 maps most of the time anyways

its not £85 for the full exp really, I bought all dlcs for BF3 but I still play Caspian Border and Metro regularly.

DICE are just giving extra options, its upto you to buy. They are not omitting major gameplay or anything. Its just more options for players thats all.

Anyways you wont have to pay for dedicated servers. I pay for them with my platoon but most dont have to so win-win for regular consumer.

It's not the fact I have to pay money for fairly priced DLC, its the fact its there in the first place. If there was like 20 maps at launch and 10 DLC maps that were not announced before launch I wouldn't have so much of a problem. The issue for me is they have already planned out what they are going to sell and how to make more money before the game is even released. Its not like after launch they say, 'you know what would have been cool to see in the game, motorbikes, so lets make DLC and include it!' What they are saying is 'you know what would be cool to see in game, motorbikes but we can sell them as DLC and make more money so why bother doing it now?'

I know it's probably not DICE's fault and EA probably pressure them into it, but its still disappointing. Much like mod tools they haven't included them because they know if they did they would make less money down the line.

Yeah Caspian Border, Operation Firestorm and Kharg Island are my favourites, Nebandan Flats is a good map, the rest of the DLC I don't really care for too much. BF3 Premium was really a mixed bag, who still plays close quarters assault, scavenger or squad deathmatch? Not many people I bet.

dom is like a quick CQ maybe they kept the scavenger game mode? But those all makes sense to me i would just switch dom for scavenger, since dom and cq are basically the same.

They have to hold something out for DLC packs. Rumors of Titan mode being part of the BF4 DLC. Likely we could see Air comeback as well as dirtbikes and so on.

I'm not getting sucked in this year. I purchased all the maps on B3 yet apart from the close quarters pack I always went back to the originals, which IMO were the best. So I'm sticking to the normal version this year.

BF4 DLC is not BF3 DLC. Look at each DLC and buy the ones that you want. Not " well i didn't like bf3 dlc so I won't buy bf4 dlc".
