the only game i have preordered is DKC TF and that game alone will be worth owning a wiiu for me personally.

none of the other wii u games really interest me but its a nice device for drawing pictures of old nintendo games you used to like playing. now in color!!

windwaker was great but i already played it and i recently replayed it maybe a year before they announced an HD port so gonna pass on that too.

Get out of here if you don't actually pay attention to news. Plenty of new games in development but newsflash New games take time to build rebuilding on older game takes less time to develop than new games.

Also as per nintendo tradition since gamecube they like to release an older game first to get an idea with what they can/cannot do with the system so they can make a new Zelda game. IE: Gamecube: OOT/Master Quest than WW followed by Twilight Princess. WII: Twilight Princess to test the waters for Skyward Sword. Now WWhd to test the waters for Zeldahd.

Sony and 3rd parties seem to understand how to properly rerelease old titles. Take a look at the God of War, Infamous, Metal gear solid, Devil may cry etc. collections. No more than 30 dollars and you get multiple games + trophy support.

Check out the price of a GameCube Windwaker on eBay and then tell me a $60 remastered HD version is expensive in comparison. Those old Sony games are all cheap to start with and at $30 for a HD version you're doubling the price. The Windwaker HD is only a little bit dearer than the original.

Well, it's actually $50. But Whymii's argument also is off... You can't compare a readily available game (retail and digital distribution) with an out of print old game. FFVII was going for $75 used, but then it was released digitally for $10. I would also compare Nintendo's remake more to the Halo CE Anniversary remake since it's a complete rebuild as opposed to Sony's and other's HD remakes which were not complete rebuilds. Either way, the price should be $40 instead of $50 IMO.

What do you care what people pay for a Nintendo hd remake? Those games you mentioned were just quick hd ports with no improvements to the game. Nintendo made a lot of changes to the Wind Waker remake including gameplay mechanics and Wii U gamepad support. Those two alone justify the price.

Given how many copies of the game is available on eBay, I would argue that it is readily available, just as copies of the Sony games are as well. Windwaker is not a collectible game (yet) and supply of the game is greater than demand. The price reflects the quality and value players have for the game. As such, the remake cost does as well.

To the rest, I know some of you fans will brag about it being a masterpiece, worth the price w.e., but you gotta remember there are great games as well that are priced cheaper, and I know it added new things to the HD Edition and all that, but that alone won't justify the price when there's current and next generation games priced the same, because to me, it is more of a remaster than a remake, a remake is pretty much re-do everything from scratch, a real remake are the likes of Resident Evil 1 and MGS:TS on GC from the original PS1 games, that I wouldn't mind the price at all.

Actually this was made to hold people over until ZELDA U.. They pretty much said this on Nintendo direct.... they said that they understand people want new Zelda but it will take a while so we are giving you WW HD plus a 3ds zelda in the meantime...

A lot of people didnt buy the game cube also .. so this could be a completely new experience for them.. This game is pretty damn fun / impressive as well.

2. Dolphin sucks at emulating quite a few games. It ran Metroid Prime at like fifteen frames a second on my computer (which by the way can run Battlefield 3 at max). ok. so when Sony or Microsoft re-release their titles they're praised for it. wow, an HD remake with added, oh my god, trophies! oh, a collection, cool, 3 games in one! really now... the real problem is, people complain when nintendo starts to re-release their titles, and with a lot of enhancements to boot, yet when others simply upped it to HD, everyone loves it. even i, who have the GCN WW, can see how much they've changed the HD version, and even i don't mind if they charge $60, coz they've practically remade the game... it's not like they just upscaled the graphics to HD.

I am buying it because I like seeing older games made to look new (and it gives me a chance to relive those experiences in a newer, more modern and polished way). I thought the 3DS remake of Ocarina of Time was superb. Why is it okay for Sony to release collections of upscaled PS2 games and yet Nintendo can't make one of their finest looking GCN titles look and play even better? Halo Anniversary certainly didn't receive this kind of flack.

And it's not a re-release. It's a remake. It's made from the ground up using brand new assets that are being used on the new Zelda game. This has been established since January.

It's a remaster, not a remake, if you want an example of remakes, it's the GC versions of RE1 and MGS1 to their original PS1 versions, of course WWHD will have some things over the original, but pretty much everything else will remain true to the original, think about it.

Huh. I don't like it. It's too similar to the vanilla controller, and the design is too complex and too peripheral--looks more like gharish scribbles than a clean, cool Zelda pad.

And the console itself is a normal one.

When this rumor first appeared, I kicked myself for buying a WiiU last month. Now, I don't feel so bad. Sure, it sucks that I've got a crappy NintendoLand instead of Wind Waker, but I much prefer the vanilla gamepad to that ugly thing.
