Wow this is EXACTLY what I said would be a good story for the movie in a comment when the first news about a movie came out! Word by word!! Makes a lot of sense. It's the best way to showcase the PlayStation and Gran Turismo life time. This will generate a lot of sells for Playstation and GT.

StraightPath3897d ago

Out of all the games with great stories and gran turismo chosen to be made into a film seriously..how exciting can see this only hurting the gt franchise with a trashy cash in film.

HammadTheBeast3897d ago

I don't know why people disagreed, there's hundreds of other games that could've been made into movies, yet they went with the most "awkward" choice.

Think of casuals. Will they be into a movie about a gamer turned racer?

****

Why couldn't they make a GoW movie? Or Uncharted? Or Killzone? Or Gek or MedEvil (instant success, kids would love a skeleton animated film).

Why GT of all games?

Hicken3897d ago

What "great stories" do other games have?

And I'm not talking the storylines in the games. I'm talking the human element, the player of the games. How many games have a story like that?

And you don't even KNOW this guy's story, so you don't know what it'll be like when adapted to the big screen.

Oh, well. Overreacting ftw, right?

ginsunuva3896d ago

Well, at least it's better than the Pac-Man or Asteroids movies that were planned a couple years ago.

Or Battleship.

first NEED FOR SPEED movie now GT what's next??? DRIVECLUB THE MOVIE, RIDGE RAAAACER THE MOVIE, FORZA VS.GT THE CHALLENGE SEQUAL.

-Foxtrot3897d ago

Wow...this is going to be exciting /s

Allsystemgamer3897d ago

It could be if its written clever enough.

-Foxtrot3897d ago

Take GT out of it and it's just one of those crappy/boring "This is how I make it" stories.

Summons753897d ago

^ Exactly what Foxtrot said

Remember the football movie Blind Side? Now do you remember staying awake through the whole movie? Yeah, Nobody does....

that's "how I made it" movies in a nutshell.

asiatico3897d ago

Well that's nice. First time I heard GT movie I wasn't moved at all. But what they're doing looks good now

I never got around to mass effect - I’m skeptical that it would hold up if I were to try it now

Furesis9h ago

I would say it does. The combat is a bit shit for todays standards but everything else is great.

anast8h ago

It's worth a play through today.

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron - Coming Back for a New Generation

Originally launched in 2011, El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is coming to Nintendo Switch, so It's time to look back at the original.

jznrpg1d 4h ago

Still have my ps3 copies. Bought it at launch and another one when I found it cheap and in perfect condition about 10 years ago. I wouldn’t buy it on Switch but if they made a PS5 version I would. I still have one of my PS3 Fats hooked up so good to go either way.

darthv721d 4h ago

Id play it again on the switch. I wished my 360 version was bc but this is still a good way to play.

Fallout 3's Reveal Led To Death Threats And Bethesda's First Security Guard

The artist behind Fallout 4’s Deathclaw reveals just how bad things got back when Bethesda took over the series

anast1d 6h ago

People are stupid I get it. No one should feel unsafe,

But I think they need to talk about why they cut so many corners during the development process and why none of their games ever look current. And why they think all of this is okay while they charge full price.

LucasRuinedChildhood1d 5h ago

As much as Bethesda deserve criticism, that's not really relevant to the reveal of Fallout 3 in 2007.

VenomUK1d 3h ago

The default angle Kotaku always go for is to highlight the worst in gaming.

I would’ve focused on the creative.

anast8h ago

The game went downhill at Fallout 3's release. This is when they started to cut corners.

gold_drake1d 1h ago

there is no "but". the hell lol
you dont send death threats, period.

anast8h ago

Usually, you have good comments but this isn't one of them. It just rides the mob. We can do both condemn the actions and not let them use it for other things.

I can say I received a death threat and everyone needs to shut up. People are not honest and will use horrible things to their advantage.

Armaggedon21h ago

Not all games “look” current.

anast8h ago

Their games always look like the gen before it.

gold_drake2h ago

mh ok thanks, i still think ur wrong in this mate.

anast56m ago

No problem. I'm not here to convince you. I'm only stating an actuality. What your words do if we look at them like events.
