New Preview Screens for Tom Clancy’s The Division Companion App

The latest update to come out of Germany deals with Tom Clancy’s The Division and its companion app for tablets. Much like Battlefield 4′s commander mode, or Dead Rising 3′s smartphone app, The Division’s companion app will allow gamers to interact with the game world from the comfort of their tablet.

Microsoft has released a few new screens for this app, which can be seen after the break.

Second screens will fade.... everyone thinks its cool right now. but after playing with it for a while no one will use it... just more ways to try and suck money out of us in the future once they see if ppl like it...

but it will fade like the wii

I had a second screen on my high-tech keyboard once. Crysis had that feature. I looked at it about 3 times in my life to see information that was already available on my main screen. Second screens are a gimmick.

Plus, looking at your second screen throws you off balance when you're playing a game. When you look up you have to reorient yourself. It just doesn't work well and it's much better to have all the information on screen. I cannot imagine using a second screen in an online game

100 percent agree... its always cool at first but then they become useless

But but but, the tingle tuner!!!....

Ok point made

Yeah I remember that on my PC screen. I also think one of the Battlefields did similar, pointless.

I kinda disagree cause I can see a lot of causal gamers using the tablet to play. My sister love touch based games (the whole reason y she bought a DS) and I'm pretty sure i can get her to play on the tablet while my brothers and I play on our consoles.

Same thing can be done with a child, wife, girlfriend, or any other causal gamer

Timesplitter143899d ago

I don't think you'll be able to play on the console and remotely at the same time. I think it would require the console to run two games in parallel.

I don't really know though. Can you?

blackpanther253898d ago

I dont think it can both run on the console. I think its tablet only. Thats y I would let my sister play the companion app on her ipad

I have to agree. Your definitely not gonna stop or pause the game just to look over to second screen on another device. Youll get the same results in the ingame options.

I am in absolute agreement with the OP 👌

I hate when I see single player games and see people begging for multi-player. Jeez guys it don't need to be on every game. Latest one I seen was atomic heart.

Multiplayer or even co-op

If it was always a single player game then that's how it is

Inverno380d ago

It's a trend that never really went away. For me multiplayer in a primarily SP focused game was an excuse for DLC. Then there's the mentality gamers had that adding multiplayer makes a game worth the price, otherwise it should be half price for half a game. A way of thinking devs reassured when they started adding multiplayer to their sequels. We see the same with multiplayer focused games getting SP in their sequels.

Flawlessmic380d ago

Tbh multilayer now is a way to add live service and mtx elements, very rarely does it come of well.

What single players game used to be in a lot of cases now require 3 other people for keeping to really enjoy it and I hate having to rely on others to get the maximum from a game.

Sp should be sp, if devs want to add a separate multi mode then that's fine with me, the legends addition to ghost of tshushima was fricking sick but totally separate to the main game. Sick of co op too.

Hofstaderman380d ago

I remember when certain single player games had them as included optional modes that was played on the couch. Had brilliant times with Syphon Filter and Golden Eye. Me and my bro used to used to fight over who would play as Gabe even though it was technically just a skin. Good times.

I didn't notice your comment before I added mine.
But good times indeed
