I could argue and give 10 more reasons, like the extra ram, the sony first party studios, the extra flops, the instant game collection, the cross game chat available for everyone, the 15 minutes capture, the playstation design, the new controller or even the Led on the PS4 and not to mention Killzone. But I won't bother explaining that. PlayStation app, background downloading, selective download, the touch pad on the dualshock, Infamous SS, it can stand vertically and horizontally .

What about Planet Side 2 ? No one mentions it, what a great game, I have it on PC but the poor thing can't handle it. Can't wait to play it on PC.

Thing is, we know very little about what the new Eye can do.

Can the new Kinect take 3d photos? The new stereoscopic Eye can. Some (like me) may consider that a useless or niche feature... just like I consider reading my heart rate and emotions to be worthless. In fact, I assign them negative worth... many of the Kinect features are detriments in my opinion... not only do I not want to have them, I want to not have them.

Well you can say Sony sacrificed the PS Eye but considering i can buy the PS4 + PS Eye and it'll still be cheaper than the Xbox One bundled with the Kinect 2.0 tells me 2 things, either Sony dropped the Eye to make the price more appealing and maybe MS bundled the Kinect 2.0 so they could bump the price up and use Kinect to justify it.

Also if anyone needs to prove it has new games it's MS, Sony proved they have continual development of original IP's to keep gaming a fresh experience and built up a reputation for supporting it's gaming consoles 100%.

Maybe the PS eye can't do half of what the Kinect 2.0 can but that would surely be understandable seeing as they built the system around the Kinect. PS eye always was just an addition, something that gave a different experience when accompanied with the PS Move.

The eye was abandoned to beat Microsoft's price, as evidenced by the now defunct light bar built in to every controller.

I will be going XB1 day one as well, for all the refined features and multi-functionality that it has, not to mention the online emphasis, which is where I spend 95% of my gaming time.

Anyone who denies it will eat their words by days end. I will be enjoying a masterpiece in form and functionality.

My PlayStation4 will be plugged into my receiver, which will be plugged in to my XB1. Everything else is secondary, as always. Xbox Live simply can't be beat, thems facts fellaz.

Could you post the source where SONY themselves confirmed that they dropped the PS Eye to compete with MS......? You can't. Because it was ONLY a rumor, there was NO confirmation by Sony of said rumour... so stop treating it so. The only things i've read (from Sony themselves) is:

1. They didn't want to alienate their consumers like they did with the PS3.

2. Consumer choice. That's what Sony's being preaching about from the introduction of their next-gen device, iirc.

Sorry but Kinect has always been less powerful than the move/eye combo. Lag was never an issue and games like Killzone 3 and Heavy Rain used it. Kinect 2 may be better but it is yet to prove itself.

Ryse was supposed to be a Kinect game but obviously that didn't work out as that is no longer the case.

I find reading X1 fanboy comments very funny they are really ignorant and MS slaves, just a few months ago pretty much EVERYONE was hating on MS, X1 fanboys was the worst because anyone that was already going PS4 didn't care that MS had all the DRM crap. And this type of advertisement is used already in some places in the world, they use all you info on say Facebook as an example they use that info to be able to send you the type of advertisement that appeals to you.

The author brings up a valid point: Vita. Some of us have a Vita already. "Remote Play" is a unique feature I am looking forward to. I hope Sony will be bringing a Vita bundle which wold allow a better saturation and better chance of actually getting more second screen features (not only remote play). Well, sure, this might lead to more WiiU ports, but why not. BF4 Battle Commander would run well on the Vita.

It's ironic how Sony fans think buying a Vita for remote play is helpful. Same goes with Plus. For $50 (great deal by the way), you get free games. Brilliant if game sales are making you money. A Vita simply for remote play is a bad idea. Software generates profit, not hardware.

Buy a PS4 because you like the games. If you are buying for the "hardware advantage" you aren't buying it for the right reason. Buy a Vita and some games to support the system and company. Plus is a nice thank you from Sony, but too many rely on it for content. Support your damn system with new game sales. Sony is not in a good place financially and just as they start to gain momentum some idiot decides a PS4 and Vita for $500 is good for Sony. Way to not only feel entitled, but take a chance at killing real sales with a made up sku.

Why This 10 year xbox lover is choosing PS4 over Xbox1.

Microsoft tried to steal my gaming ownership.
Microsoft tried to limit how many times I could lend a game out to 10 per disc when every system since the begging of time was unlimited. And tried to insinuate it was going to have other people playing it, while I was playing it. Microsoft tried to charge me a fee for saleing my game, and forcing me to a list of stores. Microsoft was not going to give any of it to the publisher or developer that they where hiding behind.

Microsoft was selling me a machine that would stop working, after the generation was over.
Without telling me this up front!

Microsoft kept insinuating this stuff was not true (pay attention to the legally binding words).

Microsoft finally admitted it, then started denying it again. Then admitted it FULLY, and revoked the policy.

This is my problem with them after they reversed it. If your a person that tried to break in my place, and steal but got caught before you could take the goods. Why the heck would I ever give you my money? Or trust you? Your my enemy now! Hello I'm no fool! I don't owe you anything especially not a second chance! For one, everyone know the specs aren't equal, Xbox boys just down play the difference because who would ever admit their brand new toy is inferior.

From the sound of things, you'll have no choice! I have no problem with preference per ce, but when it comes at the cost of choice, it becomes a hard pill to swallow!

People are looking at this the wrong way, here's a couple of prime examples, when your shopping for a new car, you can pick the color, the model, the brand, and a number of extra amenities! The same goes for the style of clothes you wear, the food you eat, even the tv's and computers you buy give you choices even from the same manufacturers.

Nintendo gives gamers choice, Sony gives gamers choice, the question people should be asking is why can't Microsoft also give gamers choice? And for starters that choice should be to be able to purchase a $500 console without the need to have a camera attached to it.

But what can/does Kinect 2.0 actually do? Past voice commands, and being about to watch/track you, they've only stepped back from any usefulness it has towards games. And you're only paying extra for it. Paying for access to things you'll have to pay more to actually access.

Why I choose the PS4?

SONY have never bailed out on me with games. More variety in the games department. Have the games that I'd actually be interested to play and to finish. I've been playing multiplayer for free the entire 7th Generation. I have been given so much more than what I paid for with SONY. I'm satisfied with my PS3, now I'm ready for my PS4.

Honestly, when it comes to winning me over. It's just two simple things:

Games and 1st party exclusive and SONY only gives the best :)

I've been gaming online on my ps3 since the start and in all those years I might have been d/c'ed from a game maybe 5 times. The PSN is just as adequate.

A lot of sources have been saying how great the PS4 interface is.

Many sources have been saying the D4 is better than the X1 controller.

X1 doesn't have a better line up and it doesn't have better looking games. It's too subjective at this point.

What X1 does have is a company backing it that is known to drop the ball on exclusives as soon as they think they have enough core customers. The amount of exclusives released in the last few years on the 360 has been absolutely pathetic to the point where I would think xbox fans would be extremely embarrassed.

Sony is known for producing amazing games. It's a no brainer really.

Plus Titanfall is a timed exclusive. There is no Gears of War 4 (although I wish there was), and there isn't Halo 5 either, at E3 there was a teaser for a Halo game that's it. No "Halo 5".

And going by your logic for GOW 4, I assume there's going to be Uncharted 4, LittleBigPlanet 3, new God of War, maybe a Last of Us sequel, new Ratchet and Clank plus so many more games.

And if you know anything about networking, those aren't 300 000 "dedicated" servers. They're servers for cloud computing, Game DVR, streaming etc. Nearly all 3rd party games use their own severs. That's why you always hear EA shutting down their game's servers, not Microsoft.

I've also heard sources say the xbox one interface is better and we have seen some of it looks great can't say the same for Sony. I also hear that the xbox controller is perfection while the D4 may be an improvement it still looks like the wimpy joystick they slapped a touch screen on .

PS3 owners will move to PS4.
Not every XBOX360 owner will move to XBOX1.

I've been getting more into RPG's lately and I just don't see many quality ones making their way to the US on the XB1.

Especially JRPG's, as XB1 is and won't be popular in Japan, there may not be reason for them to makes rpg's on XB1.

XB1 does have TitanFall & Forza, Spark & Sunset Overdrive, which all look unique and really good, but it may not be enough to appeal to me.

Sad because Xbox 360 controller is my favorite, but I dunno, something about their sneakiness just doesn't sit well with me.

If you're a gamer, you'd be concerned about what Microsoft attempted with the XB1 before their 180.

You don't just buy a console because it's a console, because buying that console might send the wrong message to the manufacturer. You don't just buy a game because it's good, because that might make the dev and publisher think it's okay to do something bad(on-disc DLC, for example).

Sony makes SO LITTLE money on the blu-ray sales in XB1 that it's laughable...Sony does not own Blu-Ray tech, they are just part of the consortium. There are other companies involved as well. XB1 won't be using a Sony Blu-Ray player, so they won't get money directly, and the amount that they will get is so minuscule that it's only double what Sony made this last decade (obviously that's a joke being as Sony has lost money)

IMO the Xbox One is just a slightly beefed up 360 with a camera added. It's not really trying to dominate the gaming scene. They want to "be solid" in all areas of entertainment, not dominate the gaming scene.

When I look at Sony & the PS4, I see a company truly dedicated to dominating the competition. They want to be the #1 system for video games this upcoming generation. To get the best content and produce the best games. They did lots of research about what went right and what went wrong this Gen and applied it to their PS4 philosophy. They saw the "bluy ray" is all you'll need & do everything philosophy put a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths.

My problem with MS is truly this: I have like 4 or 5 media devices in my home that does everything better than what the Xbox One is offering. So why do I need the Xbox One then? They are competing with all of the other companies that offer that. That's a very competitive field. I only need a device that does one thing. Yes, there's nothing wrong with a console that does more, but when your console reveal was headlined with "T.V, T.V, Sports, Kinect", then I have a problem. I cannot consider the X1 until kinect is no longer offered with the system.

I've always though Sony's had more personality....more swagger....more of "it". I can't really explain that, but they have more personality than MS. I mean they have such a diverse library of games, and I love it. Sony takes so many risks with games like the last of us, & beyond two souls. Those are games I come to appreciate so much in a market over saturated with generic fps games.

PS4 won't have gaikai at launch, another reason i don't mind getting a ps4 in 2014 rather than 2013. I'll be getting a ps4 regardless but i hope they can really deliver on remote play this time, as well as gaikai streaming ps3 games.

I agree that the initial line up of the Xbox One is very impressive but I couldn't justify purchasing one system over the other based on the launch lineup. Because the Xbox One could have a great launch line up but if the games after it are crap, i end up with a worse experience. We will be playing these things for 6+ years so the great games need to be there the whole time. Thats why I personally choose PS4, because with the PS3 they continued to deliver great and numerous exclusives for the duration of the consoles life. I won't read the article, but I can already say that if his only reason isn't that he personally prefers the PS4 exclusives, then his argument has no backbone. So since we are just spreading opinions here, I was planning on getting both consoles until PS4 proved to me at E3 I could save my money...there was no innovation or exclusives I cared about (except Order, but I don't know enough about it, and it's not enough to get a console for). I'm going XB1 cause there are several exclusives of theirs that I care about, plus their XBL service will actually be a huge upgrade on current online services, and that is a huge deal for games I like (MP/MMO/Sandbox) so even cross platform games I like will have a better experience on XB1...plus hearing developers like DICE say that they are using DX 11.1 and that it makes the game look it's best, and that's an XB1 exclusive (console-wise) this is an easy decision for me. Not to mention I actually like the kinect features (I don't use it for Kinect-Made games, but I like the voice commands, and other "soft features" of it...plus I can't wait for illumniroom and I'm interested in their AR glasses.) Future looks bright for XB1, PS4 is really just a more powerful PS3, with an upgraded PSN that still isn't even as good as current XBL. Maybe after a few years when there is a price drop and if PS4 comes up with about 3-4 more exclusives that I HAVE to have..then I'll grab one (but skip PS+ and stay online with XB1)...but as for now I look at it as they saved me $450 that I can use towards all the games I need to get for my XB1

Im getting a PS4 because over the last near 2 decades Sony has been a blessing to this industry. I only ones who still put the hardcore gamer first. Theyve always had the gamer first and are reiterating that with PS4's hardware, focus and message.

Over the last 5 years Microsoft has been a cancer. Their practices and attitude towards the gamers that made them are pretty despicable. They keep trying to play us for chumps, continually pushing to see how much crap we will put up with, pretending its some great vision only to flipflop, proving they were willing to be more reasonable from the start.

I would have to see a game thats pretty special to make me support them again. They have some good ones for sure that I will miss, but theyre 3rd party anyway and are likely come to PS4 at some point and certainly nothing to swing me back.

I have more friends on PS3, plus they have the better exclusives IMO. Let's not forget they didn't try and tell me where I could buy my games or when I could be online. Let's briefly compare the AAA launch exclusives.

Ryse was designed as a Kinect title with either body movements... or newly added Quick Time button presses. Graphics look fantastic, gameplay looks tedious.

Killer Instinct started out as an xbox 360 game that has now been made free-to-play for the xbone. But only one character is free... so it will just be a 1000 matches of 'ryu-like' character versus the same 'ryu-like' character... Until people are forced to quit playing or forced to buy a secondary character. This game was literally booed off stage at a National Gaming Association Event last month.

Dead Rising 3 - the last game, DR2, was not a great experience. I gave it OK, not awful, but not really good either. This one looks like a waste of time.

Kinect launch titles - who really cares?

Titanfall - looks badass and will be a killer game. I'm very grateful it's a launch title BUT NOT an exclusive. I've got a beast PC ready to play it on. And my bet is it'll be on the PS4 within the first year. Like Mass Effect and Bioshock were carried over.

Now here's the PS4 launch setup...

Killzone Shadowfall - this game looks amazing, and is a gritty first person shooter... I'm excited, but I'm sure it will only have a mostly interesting world to explore. This series looks and plays wonderfully... but the story, characters, and setting are always just a little above average... never just pure awesomeness.

The Order of 1886 - hunting werewolves around the world in different times with a team of badasses from throughout history. Yeah, that seems like a great new game IP.

So far both systems have 16 confirmed launch titles. Some of xbone's are Kinect games. Both systems pretty much have all the same sports titles, BF4, COD8, AC4, JD14, and skylanders.

I'll save $100 and take the extra 4 gigs of ram, and overall I like the exclusives a little bit better.
PS4 wins.

Lastly, the overall mantras of these two companies has been pretty opposite this coming generation.

Sony basically listened to developers and gamers and created a box to delight both. Microsoft made a box with all the greedy add-ons, restrictions, and anti-gamer policies that people dread. So even if they've reversed all their anti-consumer policies you can't ignore the mantra of the Xbone's design.

I already have dedicated myself to the next generation through the Wii U and 3DS (especially with Pokemon X and Y coming out). For me, the previous generation was primarily PS3 and Wii, while I had very few Xbox 360 titles. The next console choice is clear for me: PS4. My reasons for choosing the PS4 in the next generation are as follows:

1. Better Exclusives: This is totally subjective and in no way based in fact. It's personal preference and interest. In my opinion, Sony has always had better exclusives compared to Microsoft. Said exclusives branch out into new stories and forms of gameplay that offer high replayability.

2. Playstation Plus: I never had Playstation Plus for the PS3, but that's because I'm on a strict budget; however, when I begin my second job I am for sure getting Playstation Plus. The free games are enough to compare that value of paying for Playstation Plus. And speaking of online...

3. All Other Features on PSN are Free: PSN store, Netflix, Hulu, Gaikai's services...basically anything that does not involve multiplayer have been confirmed to be still free. Xbox One? Still have to pay for Marketplace and all other features, not just multiplayer. Those free games Microsoft were offering? Only lasting until the end of this year. PSN beats Xbox Live hands down again.

4. The Actual Console Looks Better: It has been shown that the PS4 is smaller than the Xbox One, big PS3, and original white Xbox 360. As a console gamer, this is vital for the setup I have in the living room. I have to compensate space for my various electronics devices. With the PS4 being the size that it is, it can fit anywhere. Plus, it's really sleek unlike the bulky Xbox One.

5. There are No Gimmicks: While the PS4 has its own music and television services, those are not the core features Sony has for the PS4. Those are merely add-on features (much like being able to play Blu-Ray movies). Sony have recognized foremost that gamers are the ones who will be buying the system. That's what a console is for: video games. I don't care what anyone says about how "all-in-one is the best thing ever" or "Microsoft are thinking about the future", just no. Those are tactless and pointless things that gamers don't want. I can guarantee that many already have DVR through their cable providers and have Blu-Ray players.

6. There is No Forced Peripheral: Yeah, I'm talking about Kinect. Kinect was an abysmal failure in the eyes of many gamers, yet Microsoft are pushing it on gamers to the point of forcing them to buy it with the Xbox One. While Playstation Move wasn't popular either, Sony have made it optional for the PS4. Also, it doesn't listen or watch you all the time. So that's comforting.

Being someone who has always supported Sony; in their approaches and products, I'll be buying the PS4.
