For Ubisoft, single-player games are a thing of the past.
If you are looking for a bargain, check out the huge discounts across the entire WatchDogs series on Steam.
With the world of information and technology, privacy and security growing every day, Watch Dogs deserves another chance in the spotlight, now more than ever.
The only Ubi title that deserves a faithful remake right now is Splinter Cell 1.
All 2014+ Ubi titles are just underwhelming. Especially ones from 2016+ are just cancer.
The fist watchdog game was the best by far
After that they weren't weird and annoying with that hipster stuff. Aiden was a badass.
From VG247: "When cars slide, they leave tyre marks. In a game like Driver, they’re an aesthetic touch, part of the inherent cool of a handbrake turn. But those dark shadows in the road also tell a story. From tyre marks, you can determine the speed of a vehicle, when it started to skid, and its ultimate direction of travel – long after the car itself has vanished into the distance."
Why did they stop making some of the best games ever? Driver was one of them.
A story driven game with pure driving gameplay. I'd love to see a new Driver game or a remake of the first one.
Yes I do...
I agree with what he said--a lot of us don't want JUST a story nowadays. We want a great story on top of a world to explore (be it large open world or even more linear but detailed worlds that feel less like a cooridor and more like it was just part of something bigger--a great example of the latter being TLOU).
Essentially "we" want a total package and multiplayer is not necessarily a requirement (although if well done and "appropriate" for the game I welcome it as long as doesn't distract from single player development/enjoyment). Even multiplayer appears to be evolving somewhat although we haven't seen much of it yet (outside of multiplayer focused games). If its a wanted evolution or a dead end we don't know yet though.
What I want is a believeable "living world" (given the setting) for single player games where your character might be the catalyst or even star of the show but where the setting and characters shine just as bright. Games have been heading this way though for years and now its becoming more and more common which is great.
Still not 100% sold on some of the new ideas but for most part love what I see. I just hope it all lives up to expectations.
Depends on the game. My favorite bayonetta would not benefit from being an open world, always online, mpcentric title.
Wtf are they talking about?!
If publishers are to be believed, the gaming community wants more open worlds, more multiplayer modes included in largely single-player games, and connected experiences.
Uhhm, when did I ask for multiplayer experiences in a single player game? Or connectivity?
I just want to play a fantastic game, with great mechanics, awesome story and FUN to play with lots of varied things to do.
and IF I want to ask friends to hop on and play then that's my choice. If the trend is that I HAVE to be online and I MUST have friends/randoms in my game in order to have the full experience then I suppose this is a good time to get out of gaming.
That's weird of him to say that(going by the story title here) considering that a lot of games in the past were just pick up, play, and beat the game without it having a deep story involved. Nowadays it seems like you're somewhat playing a movie.
