I'm sad to see developers get booed out off the stage. As a PlayStation gamer I don't find this all that great. Yeah they booed Microsoft but they also killed the hopes of double helix's possible turn around with their team.

Sure I only ever played 1 game from double helix but all I remember was that it was some type of shooter.... Can't remember what it was. It was horrible yes and at the time I swore to never buy another game made by them. But killer instinct... They did an ok job on it so far.

The guy presenting is from the fighting game community originally and is just doing his job, so nobody is going to boo him, people besides the few hardcore Microsoft fanboys left all hate the XBone.

He was the community manager for Tekken Tag 2 at Namco. And Double Helix is hiring people from the fighting game community to trying to market the game. But people who actually play fighting games and even the hardcore KI fans just don't get tricked that easily I guess.

KI wasn't a good fighting game at all to begin with anyway, people like it cuz we all played it as a kid, but now after understanding how fighting games work, looking at the new KI mechanics it is just purely bad.

Even Netherrelms who's been making MK for years still can't quite get their fighting games right, let along somebody like DH who's never made a good game let alone a fighting game.

And if you don't know what's bad about the new KI after looking at the gameplay, then you probably won't care if it's a good "fighting game" at all anyway and can probably enjoy it just looking at the graphics and mashing buttons.

When it comes to the video game itself I like the idea of a new Killer Instinct, I, and others have wanted a new title in the series, but like others I am not happy with the fact its a Microsoft XBox One only title, so in that aspect please say its a timed exclusive. (If anyone knows , please let me know.) The game does not look bad, but I cannot help but feel it "feels", like Street Fighter 4. Though im not sure why im getting that feeling.

Killer Instinct would be great to have on PS3/PS4, and even PSVita. Killer Instinct , and Dead or Alive have been two of my favorite fighting games. Soul Calibur use to be up there as well, however after the release of the third title in the series I lost interest in it. I've tried them but I dunno. Something just keeps me from getting back into them.

p.s- It was my first year watching the coverage of EVO and why is it when the players used the same moves over, and over it was called,"skill" and "technique" but "EVERYWHERE" else its called spamming.

@Melman26 - EVO tourneys are always played on PS3 for a variety of reasons. Having a fighting game on XB1 means it will never be a global tournament fighter due to issues with MS and their xbox hardware.

Consoles and game discs are supplied by tournament organizers, not players. The players just bring their input device and their body odor.

The fighting games community is one of the best communities in gaming if not the best. They are friendly and i enjoy playing with them, communities like Test Your Might, and others.
Plus, the hardcore fighting community has arranged EVO which you butthurt fantards been calling them "Sony fanboys"

Yeah, and I was a huge KI 1 fan. I have to admit though, even the art style of this new KI does not impress me, it just doesn't have the feel of KI. Double Helix I don't wanna diss, but looking at their track record doesn't instill confidence that they'll produce something great.

There has been mention that some older KI team members are working on the project, but I wish the visuals were reminiscent of the older style. It's still cool that a new KI is coming out though. Hopefully it'll be more than just decent.

I think it's rather clear that Microsoft have practically screwed themselves in the upcoming holiday season. Keep in mind, this didn't happen at E3 or at some other conference. This was EVO. These were gamers who booed because of their impression with the Xbox One and Microsoft. There is nothing to hold them back from voicing their opinion.

Do I feel bad for the Double Helix guys? Well, yeah, I do. But in all honesty they should expect two things out of making a long awaited fighting game on the Xbox One. One, the Xbox One doesn't have a good reputation with many gamers and even mentioning the console or Microsoft at any event can result in a negative reaction. Two, they ARE Double Helix and we know the caliber of games we have had from them in the past.

So, yes, I can see both sides of the coin here. For the Double Helix guys, it's really awkward and hard to present knowing that the Xbox One isn't liked by many in the video game community. For the gamers, it was in bad taste to boo (much like the hecklers at E3), but I understand where that resentment is coming from. After all, the crowd seemed to respond well to Killer Instinct until they mentioned the exclusivity to Xbox One.

That was not even as bad as it was initially described. The video when the tomahawk flies in and the crowd goes nuts seems to be missing as well. I still dont understand the hate of xbox and love of ps4. Its hilarious honestly. Both companies hate you. Trying to say Sony loves me they are doing so much FOR ME really makes you sound like a 10 year old....maybe you are 10 years old which would then make sense. The PS4 is a great machine I am impressed with it. The XBOX one has this entire THEY WANT TO OWN YOU reputation and its confusing. The original concept needed a 24 hour check in. It would have taken a minute at most to complete. This was confirmed by Microsoft that the file was in kilobytes. A 56k modem would be able to do the job. The system was never ALWAYS ONLINE and the always watching you stuff is just embarrassing to read about as people type away on their macs and smartphones all with mics and cameras. And then the reason was explained for the check in was so your entire library could be shared online. I have seen some people say it was only going to be a demo but that was also proved wrong by microsoft as well. It would have been the full game. So in reality what did Microsoft actually do? They wanted a system that lived online. That was all and everyone including the Sony Lunatics are in for a crazy shock when they realize the future of next gen is all about online and not pretty graphics. So the DRM is really a worthless point to argue.

you get the full game F2P but the only playable character is Jago. You can then CHOOSE to either by extra characters as you want them or one of the various packages/passes. These passes haven't been fully detailed yet, but one will the be full game plus future DLC.

There have been a lot of positive KI coverage on N4G but it speaks volumes about N4G's community that such a trollbate and negative story is the only one that is popular and gets so many comments. Sad really.

Well I will point it out again, they weren't booing KI, just the fact they said it was exclusive to Xbox One. People loved KI before that and were chanting the developers names too.

One thing I did notice is the match did seem completely scripted like some had pointed out. Again I can't say maybe the video was off sync a little but at times it didn't even look like they were actually playing those characters. There were times they let go of the controller also and you notice the characters still fighting.

It is odd cause the audio should have been pretty off sync also if that was the case. I guess it is nothing new these days when people show off new games they usually bring some wool to put over your eyes. Really not that big of a deal, I just thought the fight ended too perfectly.

I couldn't match their hand movements with the characters on screen either which I noticed immediately.

Also I hope that the two characters only thing was meant as that build they were showing. Cause if the game only comes with two characters, even being free that is a big disappointment having to buy every other through DLC. At that point they might as well have sold the game with a retail price tag.
