Yeahhh screw that, I'm buying this puppy digital.

Zichu3940d ago

Why? All you have to do is install the first disc and play off of the second disc. No disc swapping during play.

With digital, the price is bound to be higher, it won't be release digitally on day of release. You have to wait for it to download, so if you have a mediocre connection, it will take longer than installing it and then playing it.

ps3_pwns3940d ago

actually that is disc swapping because you swapped out one disk to play off the other and then when you put another game in and put gta 5 back in the case many will put the wrong disk in and waste lot of time switching back lol.

malokevi3940d ago (Edited 3940d ago )

Because I'm a champion?

Nah, because if I'm going to be doing a massive install, I might as well just install the whole thing on my HD, that way I can play it from my catalog without reaching for my game case. Been playing Hitman off the HD since I picked it up on XBL, and its just that much more convenient.

I'm pretty sure it will be on the store day 1. I don't see any reason to think that it wont?

My DL speeds are good, it might take an hour. I think I can manage to wait.

anyways DOESN'T MATTER WHY cause that's whats gon' happen playa. I have basically converted to digital, and don't plan on making physical purchases unless there is some serious incentive.

malokevi3940d ago

So, most of you seem to "disagree" that I'm buying this game digital.

I guess that makes most of you... wrong! :p

Godz Kastro3940d ago

Same here... But my issue is to wait for x1 version or get this one. When games look this good on current gen selling next gen systems will become less appealing.

KingKevo3940d ago

That makes sense when talking about a game that for now is exclusive to consoles. /s

xtremexx3940d ago

there is no way GTA isnt going to come out on the PC. -_-

KingKevo3940d ago

Of course not, but probably not before around summer 2014. I couldn't wait for that just because of the subject of the article.

HammadTheBeast3940d ago

Isn't that was PC players have kept saying all these years about RDR? I wouldn't hold my breath.

xtremexx3940d ago

lol, lets not talk about that.

malol3940d ago

looking at all the GTA games came like 1 year on PC after the consoles release, i'd say there is a big hope for a PC release around summer 2014.

KontryBoy7063940d ago

yeah I really want the PC version too... but ain't no way I'm waiting a year for it or even 6 months. Why R* has to do that is beyond me. I'm getting it for PS3. PC later.

Gaming_Guru3940d ago

How ironic, someone on this website asked me how Blu-ray affected gaming claiming i'm delusional. Well i was wrong about one thing, multiplatform games will see a difference if it's an ambusious sandbox video game.

CZUM3940d ago (Edited 3940d ago )

Nothing new here. R* already confirmed install size for X360 and two disc (one fori install second to play) for Microsot's platfom instead one for PS3.

Q: Rockstar, how many discs will the Xbox and PS3 versions of the game have? I am asking because I am just conscious of how many discs I will have to install onto my Xbox 360 HDD?

A: Grand Theft Auto V is the largest and most ambitious game we have yet created, and takes full advantage of every ounce of processing power available in the current generation of consoles. In order to provide the best possible experience for such a massive and detailed world, the game will have installation requirements on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation®3 systems. For Xbox 360, Grand Theft Auto V will ship on two discs; Disc 1 will be used for a one-time mandatory install and Disc 2 will be used to play the game. After the install, players will be able to enjoy both Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online without any need to switch discs.
This initial install will require an Xbox 360 Hard Drive or an external 16GB USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space. If using a USB flash drive it must be at least USB 2.0 with a minimum 15mb/s read speed and formatted for Xbox 360 use. A new USB flash drive is recommended to ensure optimum performance. For PlayStation®3, the game ships on one disc and will install content as soon as you insert the game. The install is roughly 8GB, and players will be able to play as soon as the install is complete.

Thank you.

KingKevo3940d ago (Edited 3940d ago )

That's what I thought at first and that's why I checked the article on the R* newswire again ( http://www.rockstargames.co... ), but that article does NOT say that you will have the option to install BOTH discs. I guess it was kind of obvious that you could and how it would work, but at least we do know for sure now (and with 'we' I mean all the other guys who won't get it for PS3).

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing6910h ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

Profchaos8h ago

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming
