Miyamoto talks up Super Mario 3D World, hints at 'new franchise'

One thing Shigeru Miyamoto is definitely not is lazy. With Pikmin 3 out in a few days, Super Mario 3D World coming late this year and Mario Kart following soon after, there's no denying that he and his team are doing everything they can to get the Wii U's software lineup fully fleshed out...and prepared for whatever new comes after that perhaps.

A new franchise would be cool. Seriously, Mario is one of the most milked franchise is the history of video game, waaaay before COD. I mean, don't get me wrong, the games may be good but God, there must be 100 of them. I'm getting tired of him. I know Nintendo has the talent to make something good and new, I'm just waiting for them to prove it.

Whether you like it or not Mario is the face of gaming and always will be. Mario makes Nintendo money just like the way Mickey Mouse makes Disney money. Business is business. If you don't like Mario games then don't buy them. Simple as.

Funny, I remember reading that Nintendo feels that ANY game that includes their characters doing things that are not normally associated with their games " a new IP". So say Mario playing skee-ball that would be a new IP in Nintendo's eyes.

Now, if they are hinting at something totally new to go along side their tried and true IP's then that would be something to see and a breath of fresh air. New HD console, so it would be nice to say "hey, this new IP was created back when WiiU was released and its awesome."

the thing is and People don't know because there stupid is ip stands for intellectual property so Super Mario bros is one ip, Mario and Luigi is another ip and if Mario did skiing that would be another ip, it like Sony's new up, the puppeteer is a spin off of littlebigplanbet as all Sony fanboys know the puppeteer is the main baddie in littlebigplanet but yet it is a new ip because it's a different game with already existing characters
