GameRevolution's Top 25 Xbox Games Of All Time (#25-21)

GR: The original Xbox often gets panned by gamers for being nothing more than a Halo machine, and while there's a shred of truth to that claim, that doesn't negate the fact that Microsoft's first gaming box had a ton of great software; some multiplatform, but also a lot that couldn't be experienced anywhere else. Don't believe me? Well the staff here at GameRevolution crafted a list of the 25 best games available on the system, and I think you'll be surprised by how many awesome games there really are. So let's get right into it.

But that... that controller! It was the size of a Jeep Cherokee Laredo. I jumped out before they switched it and LIVE took off. I missed out on many a great Xbox games.

Fireseed3943d ago

Haha I miss that controller SO much!

acharlez3943d ago

The massive one? I didn't jump on the Xbox bandwagon until the 'S' came out. Glad I waited.

Fireseed3943d ago

Yeah well unfortunately I have very large hands, imagine if you put your hands on the DS3 controller and could press the square button with your left thumb easily... man I want one of those gigantic controllers retro fitted for X1 :(

Crimson skies only #21 ?

TrendyGamers3943d ago

I'm hoping either Phantom Dust or Armed and Dangerous get a spot!

acharlez3943d ago

Phantom Dust. I remember trying to find an online match for hours... to no avail.

Crimson Skies was my first online-multiplayer addiction. You never forget your first.

knifefight3943d ago

I'll never forget how stunned I was when Shenmue II was on Dreamcast everywhere except in North America, where it was exclusive to...Xbox >_<

I wonder if it will be on this list.

I never got around to mass effect - I’m skeptical that it would hold up if I were to try it now

Furesis1d 5h ago

I would say it does. The combat is a bit shit for todays standards but everything else is great.

anast1d 3h ago

Downplaying every rendition of elves over a period of 70+ years? What kind of headline is that?

kythlyn7d ago

That and they're not that great. =_=; Game's too short to really get to know them.

"I won’t make that mistake again." It's impossible to that mistake again, so of course the write won't make it again.

LMAO what?! Every article that sings DD2's praises just seems off now that I've played it for myself. Its a mid game, 7/10 at best and that is generous. The elves are a joke too, much less interesting than say the Witcher 3's elves or Baldur's Gate 3's elves.
