Xbox One November Launch & Hardware Bundle Contents Confirmed

Following the revelation of a fact sheet detailing the launch day offerings of the Xbox One console shortly after its announcement, a debate has raged as to the decision not to include a headset. Today it’s been confirmed that this decision has been reversed, as an updated list of the contents has been revealed.

They seem to be Reversing alot

Foxgod3946d ago

It would have been reversing if the X1 was already out, and they came back on their decisions.

This is simply a change of plan, nothing had been set in stone yet.
For example, if MS would decide a couple of year down the line to stop kinect from being mandatory (doubt they ever will, and i dont want them to), then that would be a reversal.

Gazondaily3946d ago

Yay! Wired headset included. Thank God for that because it seemed like a stupid decision otherwise.

But still...I need an adapter for my Turtle Beach PX5.

zeal0us3946d ago (Edited 3946d ago )

While "change of plans" would be the phrase to describe this situation, "reversing" could also be the word to describe this situation. See as MS did say that the Xbox One wouldn't include a headset and now it does.

There isn't some magically universal law that states this situation only be describe with only one word or phrase. If you were writing a term paper your professor more than likely wouldn't care which you term or phrase you use, so long as you as your sentence is worded correctly.

Regardless its good to see that MS is listening to the feedback.

B-radical3946d ago

Could be the work of Julie Larson-Green ;)

MikeMyers3946d ago (Edited 3946d ago )

@zeal0us,
"Regardless its good to see that MS is listening to the feedback."

It is good and they know they have a lot of hard work ahead of them after the controversy over some of the things they wanted to implement and the fact Sony undercut them by $100.

What people should take note of on the forums are those who are offering constructive criticism and destructive criticisms. Two vastly different viewpoints. One wants the Xbox One to be the best product possible while the other side never really wanted the system in the first place and will continue to try and pick apart any weakness so that their preferred choice is always looking better.

I don't expect them to ever drop the Kinect camera but I do expect a price drop rather quickly (within the first year) if sales are slow. Microsoft can afford to do that more than the other two companies (example being the Wii U and Vita getting price cuts).

nukeitall3946d ago

Well this is a nice surprise, but I won't likely use the headset when I can use the included Kinect One.

The sound cancellation technology to reduce noise from your TV or game is incredible based on the tech demos shown.

If you still want the headset, fine, but I will be rocking it with Kinect enjoying the future! :D

RedSoakedSponge3946d ago

@nukeitall

is it possible for a link of that video please? :)

i have been wondering about how good the sound cancellation is on it for a while now.

hopefully it would still work when you have the volume up high, otherwise its pretty unusable for me.

JokesOnYou3946d ago (Edited 3946d ago )

Wow that's great news if true but the reason it wasn't included initially is because you can use Kinect as your mic of course its not a necessity but its a plus.

nukeitall3946d ago (Edited 3946d ago )

@RedSoakedSponge:

Your wish just came true! Awesome noise cancellation using new Kinect technology:

@bradical. I can see her coming into the room like a mom and saying "what the hell is going on here, kids?". Changes ensue.

n4rc3946d ago (Edited 3946d ago )

I've said this a hundred times already..

Ignore the fanboy bs. The exclusive argument is crap.. Fanboys can't comprehend that some ppl don't give a crap about uncharted... And they just assume what both companies will do in the future

Kinect isn't a add on like this gen.. Its part of the system..

DRM is part of life... It already exists.. Ms just tried to streamline the process and all the kiddies complained.. Acting like Sony is against DRM or they didnt want their camera included as well just makes you look stupid really...

They did what they could to beat ms in the preorder race... Which still didn't happen if you read a non Sony Fanboy site..

People are just gullible as all hell

awesomeperson3946d ago

The OXMUK twitter account stated that an official Microsoft PR rep stated that as far as he knows, the plans remain unchanged.

So either the PR rep doesn't know, the distributor simply got it wrong, or it was meant to be confirmed at some other time and this is some sort of leak.

Only time will tell.

I personally find it strange how MS included a headset with the 360, but not with the X1. So it would not be surprising if they did reverse and include one.

redwin3946d ago

This is great, more choices, I would use the kinect but my son would not and that why he did not want the xboxone but now he likes it. What a difference a $20 piece of equipment does. Lol.

Bigpappy3946d ago

This is a good move. Now everything you need is in the box. No need to go back to the store until the next next-gen.

Good move by M$. They have always done this, so it was expected by those who bought any of the previous systems.

malokevi3946d ago

This is great news. OPTIONS! I'll be using the Kinect for my limited communications anyways. but, its nice to know that those people who thought leaving the mic out was a big deal will be pacified and, hopefully, satisfied.

I know I will be.

sigfredod3946d ago

IF MS says in publich that for the comunication the kinect is included, yes is a reverse on their plans to include a headset

Imalwaysright3946d ago

@ Mike You wanted the X1 to be worst. You were here defending DRM. If MS listened to the likes of you and went ahead with their DRM policies they would have destroyed the Xbox brand.

medman3946d ago

This just in...Microsoft has reversed it's decision to reverse itself, thereby reversing the reversal of reversings. I can't make it any more clear than that.

CrimsonStar3946d ago

I have a felling no matter what MS does you would never be satisfied.

LAZL0-Panaflex3945d ago

They should go back to DRM GMO so we can do that family sharing 10 people same game. That was the best idea ever. They need to reverse the policy to the third power! I want that family sharing deluxe. Cloud is good. I like cloud.

Don Mattrick left because Microsoft couldn't handle his massive hands!

Syntax-Error3945d ago

So they changed policies before the release of the console and you call it weakness? Sony changed policies and structure before the announcement and you call it LISTENING TO THE GAMER, so I don't understand why we shouldn't label you a fanboy?

If MS listened to the community and removed DRM, forced the resignation of the douche bag that imposed it, offered free games on their online network monthly, and offered a power system with a great bundle of joy...you call that weakness? I call that a company saying "WE HEARD YOU LOUD AND CLEAR"

360ICE3946d ago

Aren't we all just delaying the inevitable?

Syntax-Error3945d ago (Edited 3945d ago )

What's the inevitable? Ummm, no one has won the console war yet, because not ONE DAMN CONSOLE HAS BEEN SOLD. The term is PRE-ORDERED which can be switched at any given time for no amount of money. Secondly, It's 4 months until the first console is sold and any company can do whatever they want at this point. MS doesn't have to change it's price because you're cheap, but they can offer you a pack-in title to sweeten the pot. $100 doesn't break the wallet of a man willing to spend $400

The gamestop guys say it was a bad move reversing the MRD.

RM-TatoTiburon3946d ago

nice great news (if it's true) i love kinect but i don't want that everybody at home hear my party chats

wastedcells3945d ago

Too many changes so close to launch. I'm going to ignore everything Xbox one until its out and then we will know for sure what the hell is going on.

Mounce3945d ago

They're flipping switches everywhere.

Syntax-Error3945d ago

BTW, They are selling Crysis 3 on XBL for $19.99, Prey and Pefrect Dark Zero for $2.99, and Bulletstorm and Mass Effect for $4.99. Left 4 Dead 2 and Witcher 2 are also $9.99. Talk about giving something special to the gamers. If this is an apology, i'm listening

HugoDrax3945d ago

Everyday this week I have made a purchase on Xbox live hahaha! I downloaded AC3, Bulletstorm which I finished yesterday, and Orange Box for $5 although I own a copy on disc as well. I'll be purchasing Walking Dead 400 days tomorrow, and I hope Tomb Raider & Revengeance goes on sale as I still need to play those games.

As far as your comment up top referring to CONFUSED, I agree! I had gone to GameStop two days ago and bought 3200 points for the Ultimate Game sale. I asked the employee to pull up my account to check my pre orders. Thus far I have pre ordered:

XB1 day one= $500 plus tax
XB1 Controller = $60 plus tax
PS4 day one= $400 plus tax
PS4 controller = $60
Forza 5 = $60
DR3 = $60
Second Son = $60

Total = $1,200 plus tax in the hole...

I just discovered today that Infamous isn't a launch title so I have to replace that pre order for another game, maybe KILLZONE. Furthermore I asked the employee...

ME - "I was lucky to have gotten my day one pre orders in on time for both consoles right?"

GS Employee - "Yes you are, although we still have PS4 pre order slots available but we don't have anymore pre orders available for XB1"

I was shocked! as I was definitely under the assumption that there were no more PS4 pre orders available for day one consoles at GameStop. I say this because pre order numbers don't mean a thing, and people can cancel pre orders at anytime. Purchases are what matters, and we won't know where both consoles stand until they are on store shelves. The negative press Microsoft is receiving is just what it is...Press! The real battle between corporations begins on launch day.

CrimsonSquall3945d ago

@Auric I'm pretty sure awhile ago SONY gave the okay to keep going with preorders and not make them so finite at Gamestop

Angeljuice3945d ago

@AuricGoldfinger

The pre-order sales depend on the number of consoles expected to be manufactured by launch day. If they were both releasing with say 2 million consoles, then you would be right to be shocked. However the fact that every store has received more allocations for release day PS4 units than XB1 units suggests that Sony is simply manufacturing more units in time for launch.

This is probably down to the fact that the eSRAM is fairly difficult to produce, and Sony has a better link with the hardware manufacturers.

Some are suggesting there will be 5 PS4's for every XB1 at launch, but we'll have to wait and see.

Syntax-Error3945d ago

Absolutely. I originally pre-ordered a PS4 because of the DRM and policies, but once they were lifted I switched my order to X1 since that was my first choice. I like the look and features of the console better. Even though I enjoy my PS3, I think a PS4 IMO is an updated PS3 because I am getting no new features except a share button. The 360 and X1 are clearly different consoles and I like XBL a lot better even though PS+ occasionally gives you free games as long as you remain a subscriber.

Gamer19823945d ago

Lets be fair though MS might charge you £20 for a headset but it probably costs them £1 to make as is a mono headset and a frail one at that. Stick with a turtle beach one or something else for proper sound. I hate the fact all consoles come with a headset as it does mean you get the same issue every 360 had a TON of kids on headsets talking smack as they all own one..

PS3 never had that issue as they never went out and bought a headset to talk to the kids were quiet.. Well most of them but now both consoles are gonna have smack talking kids *sigh*.

That's good for X One supporters :)

vikingland13946d ago

It seems that Microsoft is listening to their fans concerns more and more. That is a good thing in my opinion.

Ginesis3946d ago (Edited 3946d ago )

I get the feeling the XOne will be the new PS3 fanfare wise. If you notice it's kind of following in the same suite. Think about it, it cost the most (PS3 was $599), their system cost is a bit more because of tech they're trying to push (PS3 had bluray) and this one is only my opinion they have the better launch lineup so far. Microsoft seems to be a little ahead of where Sony was at this point because they're making changes before the systems release, not after the fact.

southernbanana3946d ago (Edited 3946d ago )

When you look at things Microsoft has done the past few years they have really been listening to their consumer base and have been making changes to their products accordingly. People can call it back tracking and such, but it is also about keeping their consumer base happy and that is what people should think about. How many other companies can you think of in recent memory that have made drastic changes to products to answer consumer wants? I pre-ordered both consoles, but I find it strange that Sony removed the camera bundle to cut price, but then added a free feature that requires the camera to operate. I bring that up because I have read a lot of hypocritical posts lately. I know those comments are from the one-console-owning fanatics, but it is a bit ridiculous.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't worry, N4G and Neogaf will find ways to spin this into a negative somehow. LOL

andibandit3946d ago

Yeah i bet the headset can monitor brainwave activity, article is jusr around the corner

Crazay3946d ago

LOL. Well played sir. I was thinking the same thing. This is a huge win for anyone looking to pick up on day one since I fully expect that there won't be any adapters for people like myself who have high end sets right away.

n4rc3946d ago

They have already confirmed they are making an adaptor for current headsets... Don't people look into things before bitching about them?

Crazay3946d ago

@N4rc

I'm aware that there is an adapter coming. I'm just not convinced it's going to be available on Day One

n4rc3946d ago

Its not an item that requires tons of r&d man... 4 months is way more then is needed..

It may not come bundled but will be available at launch.. That's my bet

Its welcome.. 2.5mm analog audio is incredibly outdated... New gen deserves better audio quality..

Besides.. When do accessories carry over between product generations? Not very often... Its one of those things where people hate on everything ms does even when its been done 1000 times before by others to no outcry..

Crazay3946d ago (Edited 3946d ago )

@n4rc

I'm not crapping on MS. lol. I've been a very vocal supporter but I think that given the sheer number of high-end headsets(which, for the most part, are still a relatively NEW accessory category) that are now available that use Blutooth, many of us who purchased these expensive accessories felt that the future of their use was all but a certainty because of that connectivity. I think that's been a big reason why so many people have been pissed off about it.

Noone really batted an eye before at the need to purchase new accessories. The types of accessories was limited in the past to controllers and maybe memory cards..controllers gave way to new more accurate controllers with more buttons, memory cards gave way to mass storage in the form of HDD. Why would anyone complain about that type of innovation? What's the purpose in not supporting Blutooth connectivity for high end headsets? My guess is to limit the amount of money each XBox that sells has to give over to license owners of that technology...I'm sure they hate the fact that they pay fees to Sony for Bluray.

Bethesda Needs to Reduce the Gaps Between New Fallout and Elder Scrolls Releases

Waiting a decade for new instalments in franchises as massive as Fallout and Elder Scrolls feels like a waste.

Microsoft have Obsidian but I feel it's Bethesda who just don't want to play ball as they've always said they want to do it themselves.

Once MS bought Zenimax in 2020 they should have put the Outer Worlds 2 on the back burner, allow Bethesda to finish off its own Space RPG with Starfield (despite totally different tone why have two in your first party portfolio with two developers who's gameplay is a tad similar) and got Obsidian for one of their projects to make a spiritual successor to New Vegas.

When the Elder Scrolls VI is finished Bethesda can then onto the main numbered Fallout 5 themselves.

The Outer Worlds 2 started development in 2019 so putting it on the back burner wouldn't have been the end of the world, they'd have always come back to it once Fallout was done and it would have been nicely spaced out from Starfields release once they had most likely stopped supporting it and all the expansions were released.

If they did this back in 2020 when they bought Zenimax and the game had a good, steady 4 - 5 years development, you might have seen it release in 2025.

We are literally going to be waiting until 2030 at the very earliest for Fallout 5 and all they seem bothered about is pushing Fallout 76.

RaidenBlack3h ago(Edited 3h ago)

Its not just only Todd not playing ball.
Obsidian have made a name for themselves in delivering stellar RPGs, but most famous once have always been sequels/spin-offs to borrowed IPs like KOTOR 2, Neverwinter Nights 2, Fallout: New Vegas, Stick of Truth etc.
Obsidian wants to invest more in their own original IPs like Outer Worlds or Pillars of Eternity with Avowed.
Similar to what Bluepoint & inXile wants to do or Kojima is doing (i.e not involving anymore in Konami's IPs).
So yea, even if New Vegas has the most votes from 3D Fallout fans, Obsidian just wants to do their own thing, like any aspiring dev studio and MS is likely currently respecting that.
But a future Fallout game from Obsidian will surely happen. Founder Feargus Urquhart has already stated an year ago that they're eager to make a new Fallout game with Bethesda, New Vegas 2 or otherwise. Urquhart was the director of the very first 1995's Fallout game after all.
And don't forget Brian Fargo and his studio inXile, as Brian Fargo was the director of Fallout's 1988 predecessor: Wasteland

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.
