I love Uncle Jack...seriously despite being a suit he knows what we want and you can tell that Sony in general learnt from their mistakes.

Great interview though, I especially like the part when he talks about how hard they've worked for five years only to see it pay off at the conference with the reception it got.

Well I kind of meant it in a sense where the majority of people in multi million companies like Sony end up not caring about what the company is about because they are suits. However since he has been around for a long time and he's worked his way up to where he is today he knows what it's like down below if you get my drift. Most suits in gaming end up coming from other industries which have nothing to do with games, it seems Jack is the opposite

When a company is having a good run, you give them praise. Back in 2006 I thought Sony had lost the plot.

They learnt from their mistakes and helped create a better system and a better company...how can you say that's fanboyism when it's what happened

What makes me like Jack is how natural and humble he always sounds. Microsoft's PR crowd makes me feel like I'm having a product pitched to me by a bunch of robots. Their only real "out there with the consumers" PR guy is Major Nelson, and he's a complete jackass.

He's a suit. He doesn't care about you, his sole purpose is to make money for shareholders. He hasn't got to where he is by saying the wrong thing, and he is getting paid to do it.

He isn't some demi god who is serving the gaming "community" as an act of charity - get a grip man!!

I agree. I thought it was a very relaxed interview and it's nice seeing people who are the face of big corporations be so down to Earth. He's seen the ups and downs and knows how much work goes into all of this.

Thomper is the result of greedy corps taking advantage of their consumers, cant tell the difference between genuine passion and marketing pr dribble, sad soul.You should know some companies realize theres a partnership with its consumers.Sadly its too few of them, Luckily for us Sony(the playstation at least) are one of them.

You can really tell Sony has really did there homework this time around - you see it in the little things, like not forcing consumers to have a camera - and really trying to get what the gamer really cares about - awesome job and I can't wait to get my PS4....

I just feel like they nailed it this time around, it's not just a great system for consumers, the developers love it too.. (and that can only mean awesome games await us)

Jack is one the best on stage at E3 and if you remeber his first few it was funny. He was very nervous. Cool to see him change over the years.

The thing I like about watching Jack Tretton interviews is that the guy always comes off humble, yet intelligent. And he never beats around the bush with his answers and is always direct and to the point. He has a genuine connection to the gaming community. Even if you're a MS or Nintendo fan, you still want to have respect for this guy.

MS handed them E3 on a plate. Sony didnt even show any games that makes me want the system. I watched the entire conference and I liked some of the stuff they showed but on games alone I will get an xbox 1 first and maybe a ps4 later down the road if games im interested in start showing up.

Fact! MS has a strong launch line up. I have a full friends list and everyone has been savoring over what they have seen.

Do yourself a favor and look at the X1 and actually look at how many titles are launching with it. Then look at the Ps4 launch lineup, btw don't forget all the Indie games and don't forget all the F2P games then do the Exclusives then follow up by 3rd party games.

dont forget MS has a tendency to come out the gate strong and then slowly phase out core gaming for casuals/kinect and applications. (kind of like 360, except this time, kinect is bundled in) Besides, didn't you like any of the PS games? I know they showed most of them before E3, thus, the lack of focus on them at the conference, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. They had, Infamous: SS, Killzone (which its new direction), The Order (haven't seen much yet), all the indies, and the better Dentiny experience (extra content). Besides, Sony's 1st party studios is a juggernaut of gaming experiences that you simply wont get anywhere else. I would say, take a second look at PS4. If you give em a chance maybe you will like what you find.

I went to see it live. Great show and he was very down to earth with everyone there. Totally got to hold the PS4 controller and get a picture with him too!
Giving everyone a free year of PS+ and $10 on PSN was so incredibly awesome.

Love how down to earth Jack is. He doesn't come off as scripted by using PR words and is nice and clear with his answers. No BS, no beating around the bush and not trying to sell you anything like some Executives do when they do interviews.

I enjoyed the show, thought it was quite funny by watching it til the end. I Appreciate Jack from taking time off his sure to be busy schedule by going on shows like Up at Noon. Here's to hoping we get to see Shuhei, Andrew or Mark do similar interviews on shows like this.

Wow. The difference between the top Sony execs and the Microsoft ones is huge.

It is just my opinion but the MS guys just seems so smug. And then they tell us what they think we should want this gen. Smug people need the smugness wiping off their faces.

The top Japanese studios have always seemed to want to make masterpieces. The best games they possibly can. There is a pride in their work. It is a cultural difference. Yes make money, but leave a mark and show just how good you can be.

I actually do believe Sony want to make the best console they can with the best games they can for the best user experience possible. Yes, I want to believe it too - I admit. But they seem to have that pride in what they are doing.

It makes a world of difference!!
