Yeah it was a disappointment compared to Blood Money

thats what i keep telling everyone. Was soo disappointed with this latest one. Blood money embodied what hitman is supposed to be.. a thinking mans game.

I was pretty dissapointed with it too. I don't know if its me getting older and pickier or if games seem to be getting more boring. I used to buy tons of games and play online quite a bit. Now, I just buy those really good games like the Souls, the last of us, etc. Very rarely play mp. God, I miss the Rainbow 6 days....

It's not necessarily old age or being picky really. It's just most of these newer games lack that certain... innovation compared to the older generations. I enjoyed Absolution for what it was, but it can't compare to Contracts and especially, Blood Money, which had set the bar so high in terms of gameplay. I know what you mean though, back then, I use to play games like crazy and not get bored, but now... meh, most games, you start to notice them borrowing gameplay mechanics from each other. Not many tactical FPS/TPS games out there, no more extremely cool looking Jap games like the PS1 days, etc. The Last of Us was the latest one where I thoroughly enjoyed both the single player and multiplayer, which is rare for me to enjoy both of those in most new releases.

AAA publishers are forcing samey action-oriented, linear games, that's why.

There hasn't been many truly good stealth games this entire generation.

On the outside it looked like a simple thing: Hitman 3 would now be known by this name and include levels from Hitman 2 and 3 - the trilogy would all be in one place. But on the inside, at IO Interactive, much more was going on.

You mean destroyed it with this tethered single-player campaign BS... And only the first few levels of the third modern game were on the disc! I'll never support this crap at any price-point! They've lost me as a customer.

Hitman is, and has been, a remarkable series developed by some of the best. Some are better than others, but every Hitman is challenging and fun.

Sure, there have been some stumbles and fumbles, but always in pursuit of the perfect Hitman game. The most recent trilogy is a masterclass in level design.
