Are Crossovers Over?

Gi - Amongst the games announced during the May Nintendo Direct was a new installment for a growing franchise, which was once thought of as incredibly unlikely collaboration. That game is a tie-in for the Sochi Olympic Winter Games featuring Mario& Sonic. This will be the fourth ‘Mario & Sonic’ branded game in the series. This offshoot sports-sim series featuring the familiar mascots may seem more like a casual cash-in title, but the ‘dream events’, which mash-up both property’s universes, introduce new gameplay experiences and makes the series its own unique animal.

I wish there were more crossovers like kingdom Hearts. KH took a big chance mixing Disney and Final Fantasy elements. Those 2 put together sounds crazy but it turned out to be gold. Kingdom Hearts is probably the best example of a crossover.

if crossovers are done right then its awesome but i was so disappointed with PSmove Heroes

pr0t0typeknuckles3953d ago

besides kingdom hearts and fighting games, i cant think of many crossovers that dont suck, and they shouldnt but the reason they do suck is because they become shameless cash-ins instead of a true game, like heroes on the move people wanted a game like that for years but it was a ps move only minigame, same thing with mario and sonic olympics crap everybody wants a real platformer crossover not a sports minigame,or even if it is a platformer like the crash purple and spyro orange games it drops the ball.

With Nintendo no, they will stick around. However everyone else has lost mascots for "realistic" human games. We don't see creative characters anymore, and the characters everyone makes are so basic that its kinda pointless to do it.

I mean look at PS All Stars. They did a good job, but overall how many people have guns? It's not entertaining to see human characters vs human characters, however mascots, cartoon characters, fantasy characters etc are awesome.

So in my opinion, crossovers are not dead, creativity for the characters needed to do it is.

No not over it just takes awhile for pubs or devs to collab well if you look outside of console there are tons of crossovers happening.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
