" Graphics like Avatar " heard many months ago. This statement caused various discussions within the industry at the time, but today more than ever, we see that it is quite possible, and not a crazy idea.

Plenty of unforgettable games have completely messed up their players throughout the years, all the way back from the PS1 days to the dark recesses of the modern internet.
Games such as Mad Max, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Batman: Arkham Knight desperately deserve a modern-day revisit.
RDR2 still looks astounding on PS4 Pro. i cannot imagine how it could look with a next gen upgrade.
Why do people's expectations go beyond what they should really be?
I remember before the PS360 came out many expecting 7th gen to have real-life-like graphics since apparently we were only a gen away from such goal. Many were disappointed with the power-jump the 360 offered and the hype for the PS3 even made some believe the PS3 would unrealistically reach ridiculous graphical fidelity. We're still 3 or 4 generations away from Avatar graphics btw.
Graphics, lighting, shadows and effects etc in video games have come a long way. Just look at Killzone Shadowfall, that is a launch title. Imagine what the games will look like in 6-7 years time...
To be honest I'm happy that bf4 is going to be 32 vs32 60 frames per sec 1080p I could only dream of that a year ago
