5 Reasons Why Nintendo Made A Believer Out Of Me

Xander Davis - The same day fans told me they wanted CIDER for Wii-U, Nintendo proactively reached out and provided me with an overview of their basic set-up with indie devs (details of which I have to keep confidential). So after I read them and thought they looked great (something I can say), I went straight out to buy a Wii-U to evaluate its console experience.

And how you know I’m sincere about this here, I am still a big supporter of the Ouya, conceptually for the Indie Cause, but have decided it’s not right for Astrogun projects right now due to its low horsepower and comparatively low install base (though it had only just launched). By the time I got my devkit, I had moved on to targeting consoles and platforms I felt were right for the demands of the projects. So if I truly didn’t think Wii-U was right for Astrogun projects, believe me, it would be my policy.

Yep but what he needs to know is the wiiu is not underpowered compared to ps4 ect Iwata has screamed this,don't these devs listen,then look at X or MK8 or Beyonetta2 ect and think these are 1st gen games look incredible.

One of the best reads on this site in my opinion. He's right about all 5 of those things. You can't knock it till you try it. Most people just write if off due to the fact it doesn't have the GRAPHICS like SONY or Xbox. Nintendo Wii U is amazing and one of the best consoles to come out since the Super Nintendo. Just my opinion. I love my playstation games but there is something just magical about Nintendo games.

I own a Wii U.

It is the opposite of amazing. I know it's your opinion, but there aren't any games for it yet. I love Lego City: Undercover...and that's about it. There simply aren't enough games coming out for it, even in the next year.

Have you played Monster Hunter 3 yet? That game is awesome. Zombie U is pretty good too. Plus there are classic Super Nintendo games to play in the Virtual Console. There is stuff there. I just don't think your really giving anything a try. Plus the Wii U plays Wii games and if there were any tittles you missed out on you should go pick them up. I've been playing Donkey Kong Country returns in anticipation for Tropical Freeze. Plus there is Legend of Zelda the Skyward sword. There are a ton of great games to play on the Wii U.

Not enough games? Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze, Mario 3d Land, Watchdogs, Batman Arkham Origins, Sonic: Lost World, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Rayman Legends, Wind Waker Remake plus new indie titles. All of these games are coming this year.

I own a wii u also......have you played Or own ZombiU or resistant evil revelations on wii u great games ....why are people crying about lack of games yes it's been slow but after July the games are rolling in so that argument of no games is coming to an end and you can't use that excuse anymore ...it's an amazing game system once they advertise what it can do people perception will change(off screen play ...second screen etc)it amazes me that this system has been out only 8 months and people want the world give the system some time ...and if you think no games are coming in the next 9 months you are crazy ....people downgrade that line up that is one of the best game line up in years ...Mario world ,X,sonic ,bayonetta ,wonderful101,,pikmin,wii fit ,wi sports ,donkey kong ,mario kart,Zelda ww,plus third party games watchdogs,assassin creed ,batman,splinter cell , etc that is a great deal of games coming out in the next 8 or 9 months ..just saying

Thanks for the responses guys, but yes, I've played all those games. I absolutely HATE Monster Hunter, by the way. The combat is just too slow for me. I've played through ZombiU and the others. There are some good games there, but most are outdone by better games on other platforms.

When I say, "Not enough games", I mean that there aren't enough games I want.

Pikmin 3? I'd pay $10 for that.
Wonderful 101? Again, shouldn't be a retail title.
Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze? Awesome, but still...this is 2013. Don't make us spend $60 on that.
Mario 3D Land? Maybe...but I want a full 3D Mario.
Watch_Dogs? PS4
Arkham Origins? Probably getting it on PC
Sonic: Lost World? Maybe.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist? PS3/4
Rayman: Legends? I preferred Origins on Vita, so I'll probably get it on there
Wind Waker HD? Perhaps.
Indie titles? Nowhere near support for Steam/PS3/Vita/PS4.

In the next year, these titles will be going up against GTA V, inFamous: Second Son, Titan Fall, Killzone: Shadow Fall, The Order: 1886, and various other massively entertaining titles. Don't get me wrong. Donkey Kong is fun. Super Smash Bros. is fun. I'm just not going to spend money on them if something much better comes out the same week or near it.
