Through e-mail verification perhaps? You can use the same e-mail to register both EVE and dust you know?

Na, MMO players on PC are really intense gamers, they take the **** seriously. So if they get a chance to improve their account or whatever, they will.

despair3969d ago

Trust me as much as normal MMO gamers might seem intense, Eve online gamers take it to another level. I mean they treat the game as a real world and you can actually make real world money off it, so it gets pretty insane. I wouldn't doubt this.

dvewlsh3968d ago

Sure, I just think that they'd find MMOs on the PC to play most of the time. I think if they are hardcore EVE Online players, sure.

Iceman X3969d ago

It's a good game and it's from a dev that always supports their game to the best level.

turgore3969d ago

Its a terrible game. Also pay to win.

N311V3966d ago

I thought the same thing until I actually played the game. It is definitely not play to win. Top level equipment is top level equipment wether is aquired with real or in-game currency, apart from say the name of a gun the stats are identical.

Lovable3969d ago

It's a free game, but my 80 gb PS3(which is a beast)can't handle the download since no space left lol...too afraid to change hardrive tbh hahaha

Giru0173969d ago

Go for it... I put a tasty 500GB HDD in my Backwards Compatible 80GB PS3 and it was the best choice I made 3 years ago.

Emilio_Estevez3969d ago

It is pretty easy...You'll need an extra external drive to back it up if you don't wanna re-download everything.

Felonycarclub83969d ago

I have the launch ps3 and the 60gb after like two years it was full, I changed it with a 500gb hdd and it is still running I had doubts at the beginning thinking it was going to mess up, but I never had a problem with any of my launch playstations they are still running perfect I do keep them clean, and usually after I turn them off I wait like ten minutes and then cover them with a shirt. But definitively do it I just started playing dust 514 and am getting the hang of things and can't complain is free

Qrphe3969d ago

I don't doubt the claim but I do doubt these amount of players is significant. Even 2 players would be enough to validate what they say.

this should be interesting.

Findingcrybabies2998d ago (Edited 2998d ago )

wow. that's messed up. I don't play the game, but shutting it down and then a month after that showing your replacement game after you told the community screw you. LOL. Remind me to never support or play a CCP game. There are games that came out many years before this one and the devs keep the servers up for people.

samden2998d ago

It's on an old console and was nearly dead in the water when it launched. Not much of a community left to anger. Quite frankly, it sucked, and I'm excited to see what the next one will bring.

Tony-Red-Grave2998d ago

From launch to death Dust was only really ever a poor mans M.A.G. God I miss M.A.G and Valor.

Pongwater2998d ago

Dust 514 was free so I don't see your point, but I do find your name ironic.

@Tony - Yeah I still wish for MAG2, or even a PS4 remaster of MAG.

evergrace2998d ago

One of the worst shooter games on ps3.

noxeven2998d ago

I remember them saying it was supposed to contribute to eve and everyone was up in arms and that never happened and it just fell to the way side

Pongwater2998d ago

I'm not sure enough people ever played DUST 514 to say "everyone was up in arms", but there were in fact cross play battles between EVE and DUST.

It was a cool concept with some sizable flaws, but I'd be interested in a sequel that addressed some of those flaws. I thought I heard there was a PS4 version coming, but maybe that's my imagination.

tanukisuit2997d ago

It was definitely ambitious given the tech involved and how late into last gen we were. They tried though and cross gameplay is getting more relevant, so I think not all was lost...

Player-created DUST514 Trailer Calls For EVE:Phoenix

DUST514 players create EVE:Phoenix trailers as part of their #PortDUST514 campaign.

Since the announcement of the DUST514 sequel EVE:Legion by CCP Games at FanFest 2014, there has been an almost eerie silence about the project from the game’s creators. Domains and trademarks were registered, and later left expired, for the EVE:Legion brand, and the player base was left watching as no actual news or progress updates were given by CCP, even at the various player-gatherings or CCP’s own FanFest 2015.

The players of DUST514, both past and current, have rallied under a banner, #PortDUST514, led by Ripley Riley, and are using this hashtag on social media to highlight that there is still a desire for a sequel or a port of the game to a more recent platform than the Playstation 3.
Most recently, this has resulted in the players creating propaganda posters and “memes”, and even voiced trailers, for what they themselves have named EVE:Phoenix.

The player Pokey Dravon, with the help of several other players, created this trailer for the campaign.
