It looks like Quantic Dream were not just busy with Beyond: Two Souls.

so wait a minute, what exactly did they do? If that were true, this would be Quantic Dream's first multiplatform project for this generation or maybe they were partially responsible for porting the game to the PS3?

ZodTheRipper3977d ago

Probably just small things like giving access to their mo-cap studio or data or giving tips about interactive storytelling.

Sevir3977d ago

Given that Dontnod was in a partnership with Sony before going with capcom, they likely consulted with the studio due to then having success with Sony. Doesn't surprise me one bit. Picking up the game today to check it out.

minimur123977d ago

shoot me a pm when you've finished, I want to know what it's like

wastedcells3977d ago

It's defiantly better then the reviews say it is. Solid 8 so far.

MidnytRain3977d ago (Edited 3977d ago )

They must have wanted to keep their name out of the project...

KwietStorm_BLM3977d ago

Well that's very interesting. Some little things do seem like a futuristic indigo prophecy. I'll see later today.

-Gespenst-3977d ago

That could explain the super-naff sci-fi style of this game.

majiebeast3977d ago

Im betting on the mocap stuff. Its possible they were involved. Cause remember me started out as a PS3 exclusive published by SCE, but they didnt like where the project was going so they canceled it and let these guys search for a new publisher. So its more then possible that it included Quantic Dreams assets.

Quantic Dream Announces New Publishing Label Spotlight

Quantic Dream has announced a new publishing label, Spotlight, following the reveal of debut title Under the Waves.

sadraiden319d ago

Interesting to see how this works out for them. QD have had a very lucrative partnership with Sony. David Cage is a household name among Playstation owners, and he might not have been if QD stuck with Atari as their publisher. Now they're launching Spotlight so they can circumvent Sony exclusivity? I imagine this isn't the last we'll hear from Spotlight.

Abnor_Mal319d ago (Edited 319d ago )

Weren’t QD bought buy Tencent, and if so then I’m sure there wouldn’t be anymore Sony exclusivity.

Ok it seems to have been NetEase that bought them back in 2022.

mjchitown319d ago

this is not a Sony exclusivity. you can clearly see Xbox One Xbox Series X ps4 ps5

Sonic1881319d ago (Edited 319d ago )

Funny you mention that because in a few Diablo 4 articles, Xbox was the only console that was tagged. It didn't tag playstation or PC and Diablo 4 is a multiplatform game

porkChop319d ago

Bro they had a 3-game contract with Sony. That ended with Detroit. They've haven't been working together since then, so they aren't circumventing anything. They have no obligation to Sony.

CrimsonWing69319d ago

Didn’t they show a Star Wars fake at a Sony event?

I might be wrong about that, but I feel like that’s where I saw if.

porkChop319d ago

I don't think so, Star Wars: Eclipse was announced at the Game Awards.

CrimsonWing69318d ago

@porkchop

The Game Awards, you’re right!

Kekewei319d ago (Edited 319d ago )

I don't think so. There some sources claiming Sony was not happy with their partnership at the end, they even canceled a project that was supposed to be the 4th ps exclusive from QD.

QD is gold! They make excellent games

mastershredder319d ago

Can’t wait for all those quicktime events and bash-you-with-boredom storytelling.

Snookies12319d ago

There's nothing wrong with QTE's. Never understood the hate for them. You press a single button to attack in most games. You press a single button to jump in most games. Why does it then become an issue when you press a button during a cutscene to do something?

JackBNimble319d ago

It's a niche market and not everyone is into that type of game.

RedDevils319d ago

I like their games, it's different from all the trash we seeing every years.

GoodGuy09319d ago

God was Detroit a gem. Hope that their new games are at least on par.

Remember Me - A Forgotten Gem

A Capcom classic, Remember Me, has ironically been forgotten in the 10 years since its release on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

SimpleSlave321d ago

Sadly, Remember Me is not a forgotten Gem but a case of wasted potential. The best idea the game had was the Mind Remix Segments and the New Paris World setting, neither of which where really exploited or used well. Instead everything comes down to this just being pretty Beat'em Up and nothing more.

It does deserves a re-imagining though. Make it in first person and use something like the current Sherlock Holmes like gamedesign. Use some of that Deus Ex/Hitman mechanics and go all the way with the Memory Remix as the center piece.

Each case takes place in the mind of a victim, either dead, dying, or alive, and each level should be design like a Hitman level. Contained but chock-full of details. Investigating in the real world give you hints and clues as to how you can help or mess up a person's memory. Make this a player's choice. You can add combat but make it tasteful and short IF combat is required. Make the combat fit the narrative and the setting. Like a Boss fight taking place in the Mind of a CEO that's hiding a dark secret. Or a victim injected with some nasty Nano Machines trying to erase her memories so she can't be scanned by the Memory Remix Agent. Stuff like that. Again, make these short, sweet and to the point.

The potential for a classic is there but the original wasn't even close to being it.

blackblades321d ago

I liked the game, couldve been better but you can say that for every game or movie.
