the undisputed king of handheld games..pokemanz

UNGR3970d ago

They've been sinking that last few entries, I can think of far more titles that could be considered "king" of handhelds right now.

I_LOVE_MYSELF3970d ago

Good that the game has finally taken on a 3D style. It is a shame that this series has gone on for so long, milking the franchise every release with a set of 3 games and hardly changing the main objective. In many ways it is just like CoD and adds bells and whistles every installment. The last Pokemon game I enjoyed was Pokemon Col on the GC because it actually dared to be different.

BeZdaBest3970d ago (Edited 3970d ago )

every "good game" this gen got milked because most games are now up to part 4...

there's about since 2006
6 gods of wars 4(ps3)2(psp)
10 CODS..
5 uncharted games 3(ps3) 2(psv)
5 little big planets.. 3(ps3)1(vita & psp)

i could go on and on..

funny they finally change it up and i get the felling that people are thinking its too late..(its just getting started)
say what you will about pokemon buy the come out in a span of 3-5 years.. most of these game are like 5 years old....
and most people count the 2 pokemon releases as one..because you DONT have to buy both...
so its more like 5 games in the series...

I_LOVE_MYSELF3970d ago

And there have been how many Pokemon games since 2006? About 9? That is just the main series.

I_LOVE_MYSELF3970d ago (Edited 3970d ago )

I only counted the DS generation of games. There are probably around 30 Pokemon games since 2006. So, 30 Pokemon games to your 5 Uncharted games... who is really doing the milking?

^
9 ? No. Waaaaaay more. :/

Edit : Nevermind my comment xD

Comparing pokémon to call of duty is stupid. Adding more attacks, abilities, pokemon, items, evolutions, and forms is way more than just adding new weapons which look the same and do the same.

_QQ_3970d ago

Some people don't like to think, just let them be i guess.

I_LOVE_MYSELF3970d ago

CoD has added new game modes, guns, equipment, items in the campaign, attachments, perks, loadout options like strike packages, maps, interactive points of maps, a new score streak system, dolphin dive, new secondary grenades etc

It's still all bells and whistles and is pretty much the same game... just like Pokemon!

imXify3970d ago

I just can't stand this stupid logic. Oh just cause it's Pokemon/Mario it's "not the same thing".

Pokemon is the same thing every time.

Call of Duty is the same thing every time.

Umad ? Deal with it.

thezeldadoth3970d ago

why the anti-pokemon crusade? People love the series, they are always highly rated, and its now being pushed forward more than ever. Why are you crying?

AWBrawler3970d ago

It's easier to see the new changes from a pokemon game too a COD. a new gun isn't as easy to spot as a new pokemon using a new attack! I'm just saying.... nobody is mad, but come on, even if you're a COD fan, you have to see what i'm saying.

It's like if the NFL added new rules and Somebody in MLB hit a homerun so hard that the home base explodes. which is easier to see the difference in? I may not notice the new NFL rules, but I'll dang sure notice that explosion.

Well, whatever, we're all gamers here. play what makes you happy.

Nintendo makes me so mad everything that I feel they should be making that would be great games for their hardware never gets made! why on earth is Pokemon not on Wii and not online is it was it might be the only game I play. Not really but it would be great.

kirbyu3970d ago

Making Pokémon 3D Was A Mistake

Pokémon’s shift to 3D was a big mistake, as the series’ roots in 2D design make it difficult to transfer important game mechanics into a 3D overworld.

why do other games pull off 3D monster collecting JRPG games just fine? Look at Jade Cocoon and Shin Megami Tensei for examples.

Answer should be obvious.

No other videogame franchise is as merchandise driven as Pokémon

Nintendo 3DS Games We Still Love Playing Even Today

BLG writes: "While it didn’t sell as well as the Nintendo DS, the Nintendo 3DS was nonetheless a wonderful system. And, while this may be a hot take, it’s easily my favorite handheld. Even more than a decade removed from launch, the system’s library has so many titles that feel as fresh today as they did back at release. While it was hard to narrow down, these 30 Nintendo 3DS games are emblematic of the system’s success."

When Will The Pokemon Company Introduce a New Typing?

The Pokemon Company has a solid thing going right now. Well, it’s been going on for a while, actually, but it has been a while since a new typing has been introduced to the popular monster-taming series. The latest one, Fairy type, was introduced back in Generation VI (Pokemon X & Y), so it does seem like it is time to bring in a new one. Check out Jason Capp's article for more.
