Why Didn't You Buy Bayonetta?

well i brought bayonetta full price when it first came out and enjoyed it so, yeah......

I wanted to get it and was tempted at full price, but the PS3 version was horrible compared to the 360. I just felt I deserved more as a customer who is willing to pay full price for a game.

Well it's $20 on PSN now so you really have no excuse. I played it with the patch and it was fine for me. Nothing was broken or anything game breaking. It's a great game. Honestly the best action game this genre.

PS3 and Xbox 360 fans didn't buy Bayonetta because it's not a shooter or racing game. Lets be honest here. The highest selling games on both of those systems are shooters. Action games don't sell on there.

I am just glad there will be a sequel at all. Hopefully they make enough money off of this deal with Nintendo that they can bring Bayonetta 3 to multiple platforms.

Why did you not list the highest selling games on the Wii like you did for the other two?

How did action games sell on the PS3 and 360? Wanna bet more action games sold better on the two HD consoles than on the Wii? Wanna bet there were MORE action games on them than the Wii?

On topic, I didn't buy it at first because of the shoddy port job. By the time I had a break in my gaming calendar, it was like ten bucks used, so I picked it up. Enjoyed it like I knew I would.

question is, why didn't people buy Sega games? No one bought Yakuza, so how do you expect them to have money to publish Bayonetta 2 on other consoles.

No, I am asking why "other" people didn't buy Yakuza. When you see Sega as a company, they don't just make or publish "one game." You can't just ask Sega just to release game the game you want when other people want other games. Poor marketing? or maybe people are not paying attention on what's new? Fans of Bayonetta should at least be a little more encouraging to have more people support Sega games even if it's not a game you are interested. How else are they going to get the money to publish games? You see, consumers only pay attention to the big names. If it ain't EA, then forget it. If it ain't COD or Halo, then forget about it. That is just the sad truth. Why you ask? They are too busy to check around.

People didn't buy Yakuza because Sega didn't market it properly. Ni No Kuni sold well, with a name like that, so people will buy Japanese rpgs, but you have to be smart about the marketing and the number of copies sold initially. Had they taken the Atlus route and released a limited number of copies initially, than hype would have built up and more copies could have been sold.

I was probably busy playing something else, like Little Big Planet or Star Ocean, or ModNation, but probably Disgaea 3.

See, Bayonetta isn't really my kind of game, but I'm not really into shooters either.

1) Wasn't different enough from DMC.
2) Poor PS3 port. Too much talk about it being a poor PS3 port.

It was under the radar for me. Then my friend let me borrow it and I 100% completed it. I decided if it got a sequel I would get it......but then it turned exclusive. So who knows.

Bought it. Played it on the 'inferior PS3' version. Loved it. Platinum it.

Pretty peeved that Platinum Games made all those excuses that the game didn't sell as well. Even though they made the game at first exclusive for a system that is dead in Japan in the Xbox 360. If it weren't for Sega pushing for a PS3 port the game would've sold even worst. Platinum than refused to port the game themselves instead have Sega do a 'candy ass' job on the PS3 version that sold the most out of the 2 systems....so yeah to me Platinum Games is over rated until they can prove they can make a solid title themselves.

Bought the game new. I was thinking maybe, just maybe some gamers got turned off when they heard the word "camp/campy or kitsch" being associated with Bayonetta..

..thing they didn't know it was meant in a very, very good way.

I love the game and the presentation. Honestly wish more games would take themselves a little less seriously and be FUN like they're meant to be. Also, the patch seems to have fixed the PS3 version, I had no problems at all with the framerate.

Because the PS3 port was broken out the gate, and Platinum Games didn't even care enough to patch it themselves...

Bayonetta is one of the few games that blew me away this gen. IMO it crushes DMC and GOW in terms of style and over the top action. I mean this chick deals out punishment measured in gigatons. I still play it, still love it, respect to Platinum Games.

Platnium Games needs to beg, borrow, steal and do whatever else it takes to get Bayonetta 2 into the PS4 release window. It'll probably do 2 million copies over the first year.
