Final Fantasy without a doubt is the grand jewel of Square Enix. It all started with Final Fantasy in 1987‚ now sixteen years later the franchise is still going strong with better graphics‚ unique gameplay and story lines that capture your heart. But who are the most beloved Final Fantasy characters? with countless amounts of research we have included a top five list that explains why the following characters are beloved by the many fans‚ what defines them and what are some annoying traits that they have. My favorite was squall because everyone else liked cloud. So many cool ff characters though.

Me too as you can see LOL!! cloud is just second for me. Cloud looks more feminine pretty boy type while squall a very handsome dude when talking about looks. And Lionheart is so badass!! and Rinoa for me is the most prettiest FF character ive seen :D

Wow, Cloud is the most relatable and likeable character in the series? Have you played anything other than VII, VIII and X?

Zidane is a far more likeable characters and also a bit more relatable, seeing as he behaves like an actual person in a lot of ways. He masks his inner turmoil with humour, conceit and boisterousness, takes every opportunity to hit on women and is a general "guy", but at the same time has a heroic side that pushes him and elevates him in the eyes of the player. I find that character more interesting than any of those listed here.

If I had to pick the best:

1) Zidane
2) Sephiroth
3) Basch
4) Auron
5) Vivi

While I may have enjoyed IV and VI greatly, characterization obviously got a lot better after the 16-bit era (as did storytelling), so naturally the later entries were able to portray more compelling characters. So Sephiroth has more dimensions than Kefka, despite my preference for Kefka as a villain. Vivi is oft overlooked but very interesting as he explores some existential themes and ponders his purpose in life.

Basically, I would say that IX contains perhaps the most well-rounded and multi-dimensional cast you'll find in a FF game.

It's pretty hard but I'd have to go with Gilgamesh. Not only is he a fantastic boss in several games, very funny and exceptionally well designed (generally), but also the fact that he has actually been in nearly every final fantasy universe thus far is very cool.

His life was amazing and tragic. And even though we knew how it was going to end, it was still sad.

I fought HARD in that last battle, but to see his body breaking down and getting slower... man :'(

Yep Cloud deserve the TOP spot agree more or less with this list the author make a gr8 job analyzing Cloud most ppl cant even understand 1/10 of that while playing the game, maybe because they r biased & love some other FF already or maybe because they have play the game once never cared much from the start & never touch it again since then.

Male character

Cecil for me cause his character growth in the game is one of the best in the Final Fantasy series. Him facing his shadow to become a Paladin was epic.

Kain cause he is just a bad ass.

Female character

Rydia cause she was adorable as a kid & becomes a hottie when she is grown up. She even saves your ass from Golbez once.

Aerith for being burdened with a difficult life yet she lives it to the fullest til the end. Even in death she protects you. She's cute too.
