BioWare talks possible Mass Effect spin-offs - Garrus, Illusive Man or Javik to star?

"There's so much that could be told in the Mass Effect universe." [OXM UK]

A Garrus game would be all kinds of awesome, but I do wonder whether it's possible to sell a game with a properly non-human protagonist (that's "properly" as in "looks genuinely alien, rather than just a normal dude with a funny-shaped nose"). After all, if Western developers have reservations about putting women/non-white males on the cover...

I reckon Aria would make an awesome lead too.

"A Garrus game" +1

Perhaps if it was a digital release, the non-human thing wouldn't be a problem, because they'd be selling to people who already "get" Mass Effect not mainstream consumers

Garrus is my buddy. Love that fella and he deserves his own spin off.

Garrus? Not gonna happen. I hear he's in the middle of some calibrations...

I'd prefer a prequel to Mass Effect playing as Thane. You would essentially be one of the greatest assassins in the world, with ones of the coolest character designs. They could also dive further into his relationship with his son. Though Garrus would most definitely be my next choice.

Would appreciate a game that takes place in a different time. Maybe in another cycle, or in a cycle we know nothing about.

I also think it would be cool if you just played as an average marine/soldier in the war. You could also have an RPG where you create a soldier for a given faction and fight in major battles. There's a lot they could do, I just hope they don't blow it.

A different cycle would mean they don't have to worry about integrating all the player decisions from the first trilogy - could be helpful.

I'd quite like to see an ME that's entirely about the social and branching story aspects, with very little combat. An L.A. Noire set aboard the Citadel, maybe.

A Garrus game would be EPIC.

I dont mine seeing Kasumi Goto or a game that has events after Mass Effect 3. Or a game playing as a Cerebus Soldier

"Javik"

Just because a couple of BSN fangirls goes wild over a DLC character and spams the "lel throw everyone out of the airlock" over and over doesn't warrant him to get his very own spin off game.

Illusive Man has somewhat of a rich backstory, thanks to the comics, so he would be a great fit. Garrus, although is a great character, lacks the sort of good backstory Illusive Man has, so he also wouldn't be that much of a good choice.

A game centering around the Illusive Man and his conspirative doings would be awesome. Would need a great script to pull it off though.

I like the idea of an Illusive Man focused ME-Spin-off

He was one of my least favorite characters. I wish they would have done the Proths different.
