What To Look Forward To In Metro: Last Light

Metro: Last Light will be released soon, and this is what I am looking forward to in the new title by Deep Silver.

gamerlive4002d ago

This one looks like an improved follow-up.

MadLad4001d ago

I don't know.
Game definitely looks good. One of the only games I have ever pre-ordered. But, seeing some of the simplifications, I am a little worried.

That said, still think it's going to end up being my favorite shooter of the last couple years. If nothing else, the game seems to retain that amazing atmosphere that made the original so great.

Kran4001d ago

Sometimes simple is better.

Too many games have features in them that are either
a) not needed
b) overwhelming
c) too gimicky

Lets go back to the days shooters are actually shooters and not "level up, heres a point to go to a perk you may never use"

@Kran

edit:

Re-reading your post, you aren't even making a point regarding the Metro series. Firstly, the original never set itself up as a simple game. It went for the exact opposite and, much like it sort-of predecessor, tried to be a rather hardcore, oppressive experience.
Secondly, there are no level-ups of the sort. In this one, and this is an improvement, there are weapon upgrades that you can purchase from vendors.
The issues I have are those that actually take away from the survival feel of the game, as well as simply bringing the combat to more of a Call of Duty feel, truly weakening the series and bringing it closer to the sort that you specifically were criticizing before.
But, you know, whatever.

Metro Video Game Series: A Comprehensive History

The Metro video game series started with a humble b-list title, before building a strong fanbase and becoming a pioneer in the industry.

TheBrainZ72d ago

Never got into Exodus, but 2033 was excellent.

kevco3372d ago

Yeah, Exodus just didn't grab me either, sadly.

I absolutely loved 2033 and Last Light, however. Played them both on 360 and then again with the remasters!

anast71d ago

I just started it and it is already miles better than the first 2 which are dated.

That's pretty cool, but didn't they just lay of 10k as a whole. Reportedly some from the gaming division even.

Confused in pa.

Sonyslave3216d ago

Yes they did , it the circle of life in the tech bizz.

Circle of life of meh games

This is called good PR. And an opportunity to hire veterans over scrubs.

phoenixwing215d ago

Not to call them scrubs but yeah some veteran devs are more welcome than others with less experience

Flakegriffin215d ago (Edited 215d ago )

You can hire veterans all day long but it’s the talent Microsoft lacks.

Zeref215d ago (Edited 215d ago )

It was mostly outside of gaming. Most of the game studios weren't affected besides 343i and Coalition from what I recall

Charlieboy333215d ago (Edited 215d ago )

But of course. Just look at the latest Saint's Row....that is exactly the level of quality and writing that Xbox strives for these days.

Aloymetal215d ago

Nope, like Redfall, Craig infinite

ravens52215d ago

There u go. This is way more acceptable than buying up studios. Buy individual talent until you strengthen your already owned studios. 👏🏽
