Potentially brilliant: Vita’s wasted 3G dreams

I really like the Vita, as I’ve mentioned many times. There aren’t enough games, which is a shame, because it’s a lovely little device. I love playing it sprawled out in bed – remote play is a fantastic way to utilise for my poor old, couch-less PlayStation 3 – and its lovely screen makes it a very pleasant portable media player. But with all that in mind, I’m thinking of swapping it out for a 3DS.

go ahead you should sell that damn vita before E3! before its too late i promise you wont regret it and no dont get a 3DS it a waste time and money too!
instead get a tablet or ipad or smartphones because some article here in N4G says that smartphone are the so called future of mobile gaming!

you know what im using my vita as a web browser since i get it in january and im using the 3g a lot and sometimes the wifi about 2x a week only, cause im relying on 3g that much and i can use any sim on it because its a european vita ^_^

you know what you shoulnt post it in here, you should post this article in gamefaqs or neogaf instead you will be entertained there nice and peacefully lol ^_^ well just saying

and the vita is only in its 1st year.. and if you dont have the patience to wait for its inevitable upcoming games in the future.. because a lot of you dont know what are those games... you should pick the 3ds in the 1st place, you wont might maybe regret it? :p

sometimes ninty fans remove your rosy tinted ninty glasses for awhile, the only thing you have seen on my comment is "3ds is waste of time and money" and you didnt even get the meaning why did i say that?

ok ill explain, because some article here mentions that handhelds it means the 3ds/vita will be irrelevant in year 2016 and outdo by smartphones/tablets which is isnt true or do you believe it?
besides the author is unsure about the relevance of handhelds in the future, base on his statements....

so thats why i said dont even get a 3ds because its a waste of time and money if in the end he regret purchasing it, and then write an article here in n4g about it which will offended you 3ds fans the way he offended vita owners with this article

I owe both 3ds and vita. Having so much fun with the 3ds right more than the Vita cos of the 1st party games and support it getting.with the vita not so much cos most of the games i own them on my ps3 expect gravity Rush and persona. It's amazing how everyone has suddenly forgotten how bad the 3DS was when it first started out

The only reason for the turnaround is because of a price cut, not the awesome sauce software or the games or hardware, a price cut. Unfortunately we're still in a recession as is most of the world and Sony needs to understand this and should lower the price point for the entry model, once they do that everything else will take care of itself.

The author is incorrect anyways ...
NEAR works whether you pay your 3G bill or not ... just like StreetPass, it still tallies all of your gps locations.
You just have to upload the info to get your "gifts" once you get home to your wifi connection.

So yea maybe you should sell your Vita, bc you obviously don't know how to use it.

I love my Vita and I find it to be an amazing handheld. My only issue with it is that 3G is a big waste of money. even pointless at times.

For the price you just dont get enough bandwidth to do anything with and for the limited bandwidth you get the price is way to high

I found the 3G had great reception for me, and I got a signal everywhere, whether it be up some hill in the middle of nowhere or wherever. It beat out the pocket wifi device I had every time for connectivity.

However, I couldn't justify the cost. Just wasn't worth it for the convenience. Not essential for me.

Getting a 3DS at this point in time is a no brainer if you love portable gaming. Its library is getting bigger and better all the time. The Vita, while a very powerful little machine, just doesn't have the it factor....compelling software. I can see why the author is conflicted, and at the end of the day, you have to go where the games are that have your interest.

Its a damn shame what happened to the Vita. By this time last year the Vita was made to be a shoo-in through out the gaming media before it was even available. The 3DS was said to DOA & SOL by many of those same elites. My how times have changed. Its quite the sight to behold I can tell you that much.
