E3 2013: Expected and Rumours

The three E's of E3 stand for the Electronic Entertainment Expo. Hosted by the Entertainment Software Association, or ESA, it's an annual sneak peek at what's in store for the videogames industry for next year.
But enough dry details, this E3 2013 promises to be the most revelatory in years. Why? Because of the coming console war. Sony's PlayStation 4 is about to square off against the Xbox 720, or whatever Microsoft names it, for living room supremacy.

"2. No Nintendo press conference

Nintendo has made the somewhat surprising decision to forgo its usual E3 press conference in favor of hosting a smaller, closed-doors events to focus primarily on software.
"We have decided not to host a large-scale presentation targeted at everyone in the international audience where we announce new information as we did in the past," said Nintendo President Satoru Iwata.
"Instead, at the E3 show this year, we are planning to host a few smaller events that are specifically focused on our software lineup for the US market."

See, Nintendo will be at E3.

BitbyDeath4006d ago

They'll be there but so could Obama for all we know.
We won't see them is the problem.

CouldHaveYelledUiiW4006d ago (Edited 4006d ago )

Lol for Obama.

I think what they will do is:

-Have the Hands-On Press Event

-Allow the Press to write their Hands -On Review. Give them Screen Shots, video, and Interviews.

- And then do a corresponding Nintendo Direct so that we see what they saw.

Even if we saw it during a Press Conference, it would only be for 10 minutes or less.

A demo or a montage...

I don't get this train of thought though. The only way you won't see them is if you are actively avoiding them.

Their Directs or announcements or whatever they're doing are still going to be livestreamed and are still going to be covered by gaming websites. Sony and Microsoft's conferences are going to be livestreamed as well. If you miss out on their Nintendo Direct or whatever they're going to do, let's be honest, you probably weren't going to watch their conference anyway.

I watch the conferences mainly for the game announcements and new footage of games that I'm hyped for so once Nintendo gives me that I'll be fine. Or they can completely screw it up bigger than they messed up their conference last year with Nintendoland(woah, I bought back some dark memories there *shudders*).

I admit I'll miss Nintendo's conference because despite how good or bad they are they've always had their memorable moments (My body is Ready still hasn't gotten old to this day). But just because they have no conference, don't act like their going to be invisible. Their visibility factor will depend entirely on what they show.

showtimefolks4006d ago

bring there and making an actual impact are 2 different things, this is the most important E3 for nintendo and they are not hosting a big event when they actually have some huge games to show off for the 1st time

what you think during the E3 when sony and ms are talking about next gen and showing games how much attention would be on nintendo with these smaller events?

i could be wrong but IMO this is a very bad decision wii-u needs as much exposure as possible but nintendo is going the totally opposite direction

Jek_Porkins4006d ago

Well their Steam Box guess is off because Valve isn't going to be at E3.

Here's hoping for a great E3 all around, and a few megatons to get us all excited and talking.

Ranking the Devil May Cry Series

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."

First to last for me...3,4,5,1,2.

VersusDMC4h ago

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

Still a good game though.

Friendlygamer5h ago

3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best

Yui_Suzumiya3h ago

1 and DmC. The rest are unimportant.

DarXyde3h ago

Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...

5, 3, 1, 4, 2.

I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.

But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me

Used to love this one, but X-Men Legends 1 and 2 will always be my favorites, especially Rise of Apocalypse. Would pay some good money to play it today with online multiplayer, back then I had no way to get a modem

RavenWolfx2h ago

Yeah, I loved the Legends games so much.

ZeekQuattro10h ago

I remember buying them dirt cheap on the PS4 and then a few days later I read they were delisted. I was wondering why the bundle was price so low and got my answer when that happened.

Knightofelemia8h ago(Edited 8h ago)

Sad to say this is one game franchise next to the Xmen that needs a sequel. I use to play the hell out of Xmen Legends and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Was great when my cousin had the OG Xbox play with four other people and then playing online. Great games glad to see it reappear even though I own the discs love the mechanics of this game.

Terry_B8h ago

It got a sequel..but for dumbass #reasons as a switch exclusive.

shinoff21838h ago

It looked so horrible to. They should've kept it similar to the first two.

Asplundh7h ago

Because Nintendo funded it, they did the same for Bayonetta.

Knightofelemia7h ago

I totally forgot about the Switch sequel.

jukins8h ago

Misleading. This page is whats available for people who owned the game prior to delisting.

Abnor_Mal7h ago

The first game was the best imo.
