Techtorial: While Rockstar Games already confirmed GTA V will debut on Xbox 360 and PS3, questions still linger if the game would only be contained on current-gen consoles.

No one said it was current generation exclusive and since it's being released in September, it's not a stretch to imagine it being developed for the PS4 & Xbox Durango/720/Infinite.

I would buy GTA5 for PS4 later on again 100%, and play it again from 0%, I know most of GTA fans would... they have to make PS4 version... we all know that ps3 nowdays cant hold latest graphics.. and I would be glad to buy and upgraded version of the game later... I think gta6 will be after some 4 or 5 years... wow... next gen consoles just cant live without a gta game for so long... :) just like witout GT series.. and that GT6 on ps3 rumor...

I've wondered this since first screenshots surfaced. Bullshots can only accomplish so much. I think all the shots of GTA V are from nect-gen consoles, just like AC4. Guess I'll find out soon. Can't wait.

xPhearR3dx4011d ago

No, they're certainly from this gen. Just look at the anti-aliasing in some screens. There is none lol Plus, Rockstar already confirmed that all screens are from current-gen consoles.

Remember when the L.A. Noire trailers came out and how many people said the game wouldn't look as good as the trailers when it came out? Then when it released they were proven wrong. If there's one company that doesn't provide bullshots, it's Rockstar.

MonkeyNinja4011d ago

Good point, didn't consider that. If these really are from current-gen, I'm extremely impressed.

Not too sure about R* not making bullshots though. Sounds too good to be true. I'd have to see proof to believe that.

xplo4011d ago

Uh, Rockstar has provided bullshots before: Vice City.

And even if these aren't technically bullshots because they're rendered in the game engine, they're using effects and camera angles to pretty them up that we might never see in the actual game.

Everything from the Epsilon screensaver looks current gen to me, BTW. Look at the textures and the geometry. The water is nice, but game water has been looking good for quite a while now.

@xplo

You're using camera angles as an example to try and prove Rockstar has provided bullshots? Please. They don't use special effects either. Like I said, Rockstar is one of the FEW companies that don't release bullshots for their games.

Have to admit, this is the first time I remember there being multiple games releasing on both current and next-gen systems. AC4, Watchdogs, GTA V (most likely), and others are promising to appear on PS3/360 as well as the next consoles.

Man, there's some money being made in the game industry these days.

FrigidDARKNESS4011d ago

Its not a fair comparison. GTA5 is a i8th generation game with better dev. tools. It will be 3-4 years until we see the full power of nextgen console when better dev. tools becomes available.

i think this title is far to big to deny the next gen and it's graphical benefits. First day buy on ps4.

Cost of realistic looking movement.

Rockstar need to learn that 12 years of work and 5000 employees doesn’t account for one persons opinion on the internet…

Oh and hundreds of millions of dollars in revanue to boot.

Lots of complaints about gta ever since the hd era started and yet it's bugger than its ever been with gta vi up to 180 million trailer views alone. The next game is shaping it be be another genre defining game

MetalGearsofWar36d ago

They already learned they dont have to actually make a great game

sagapo36d ago

The controls of RDR2 felt a but cluncky indeed, but it’s not as bad as some make it out to be. At no point did I get the feeling my experience with the game was held back or ruined by the controls.
But it can never hurt to optimize them a bit, sure.

Zhipp35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

I did accidentally beat someone to death a couple times. An unfortunate mistake but besides that I didn't have any problems with the controlls

jznrpg36d ago

Red Dead Redemption felt clunky at first but I got used to it fairly quick. I thought 2 was easier to control but it could be my experience with the first game helped me out. Great games

Profchaos36d ago

I wouldn't call Rockstar games characters clunky instead they feel like they move with Weight they are not twitch controls press x to instantly snap onto cover the characters instead move like a actor would ducking behind cover they are exposed while they get there.
