Bethesda clarifies that future 'minor updates' for Skyrim won’t include any additional features

When Bethesda announced last week that “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” development team are moving on, as a whole, to the studios next big project; the developer stated that fans shouldn’t expect anything other than minor updates for popular role-playing game in the future. Further clarifying exactly what was meant by minor updates, Bethesda’s Pete Hines has now stated that no additional features will ever be included to “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.”

Players originally hoped that content added outside of major DLC releases, such as Kinect Support and mounted combat, might be considered to be minor updates that fans could still look forward too. However, this isn’t the case. Any gameplay feature that isn’t currently part of “Skyrim” simply won’t ever be added.

Skyrim has problems on all platforms.

Check out the "Skyrim Hardware and Software Issues Subforums" for any platform.

"Skyrim has problems on all platforms. "

Like every game out in the market? no game is perfect especially open world games but every game has his problems, also pointing out a technical forum like that proves how stupid you are, most games have technical forums and is nothing to feel ashamed of.

My Skyrim still works PC/360.

One of the greatest games of this generation. Glad Bethesda supported it so well and so long. Yes, they had some shortcomings with the PS3 version.

But whatever they achieved was simply phenomenal. The main game combined with the 3 DLCs can give you 400 hours of gameplay.

A world so massive, I wonder how they pulled it off on current gen consoles.

Great job Bethesda. I simply can't wait for Fallout 4 and Elder Scrolls 6.

Ik, i'm planning on buying the legendary edition when it comes out cause i enjoyed it on PS3.

To be honest ive been dissapointed at the DLC for skyrim.

I just enjoyed oblivion so much more and spent a lot more time on it.

Skyrim ordered everything from the menu, couldn't finish the meal. The critics thought it was horseshoes and they scored points for an almost.

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast18d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22918d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko18d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave18d ago (Edited 18d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
