step one create expensive console
step two sell it to the hardcore guys given that casual see it as too much money to invest
step three lower the manufacture costs
step four games for family and casual crowd.
step five gear up for next gen

I hope this isn't the beginning of another videogame trend getting run into the ground like the FPS before it. Just because Dark Souls was challenging doesn't mean that all subsequent "challenging games" have to take the form of a Dark Souls type game. Sometimes the games industry suffers from a severe lack of imagination / gets a little to enthusiastic about cashing in on trends. More games with unique visions need to be encouraged.

That said the concept of God dying and falling from the sky (while pretty stupid- what, God was just up in space hovering around the earth?) is pretty cool, and that artwork is pretty sick.

This is the rpg with the giant dead colossus or bionis llike God that divides the two kingdoms right? I remember seeing something about this a year ago. Sounds awesome. Hopefully it comes to consoles. I may never get around to building a pc at the rate I'm going. Too busy buying games for the half dozen consoles/handhelds I have.

The game you are referring to is Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii. Outstanding game. This looks great too so far. I am excited to hear more.

There is some info in the interview and I found this a little surprising, but it could mean anything.

"I can't talk too much about the next-gen Xbox," he added, "but I don't think a lot of people [are] going to be surprised. I don't think it's going to be huge news what's inside, no - seriously."

interesting concept but i just hope the gameplay lives up to the hype.
