All those franchises are now dead and its not even funny

majiebeast4020d ago (Edited 4020d ago )

Yeah im sad byebye Darksiders your Journey was too short.

This is worse then Crytek getting Darksiders atleast they would have the man power and money to make a proper sequel.

time to pull out the FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU this is like such a depressing month for the industry with the closure of lucas arts. Now the worst case scenario at the thq auction.

They just bought those IP's for the legacy sales and the IP's are just gonna gather dust no real sequel is gonna be made.

^ Sometimes death is a better option than a half-life.

aliengmr4020d ago

Ummm, no they aren't.

They aren't AAA's with zillion dollar budgets but they aren't dead.

2 things:

1. Why spend 4 mill to not do anything with the license?

2. Why go all "pre-order cancelled" when nothing is being worked on?

Ohh and if its "budget" you're worried about, even AAAs fail, so maybe wait until there is actually something to be depressed about.

kma2k4020d ago

Alan Wake is the only game on that list i played/enjoyed.

KaBaW4020d ago

Ever tried Torchlight? If you like Diablo, you may like it!

Mottsy4019d ago (Edited 4019d ago )

Torchlight was really well done. Torchlight 2 is looking even better.

Edit for Torchlight 2 gameplay video

Ugh... Spellforce 2 was about as much fun as setting myself on fire, and significantly less exciting.

Nordic games absolutely cleaned up!!!!!

Yodagamer4019d ago

Tbh none of those franchises probably had big budgets at the end of thq's life and they did fine with that. Heck the only reason why darksider II didn't have multiplayer was due to the lack of funding. The darksiders games only had to sell 1 million copies to be a financial success.

animegamingnerd4020d ago

i have no idea who nordic games are

Chrono4020d ago

Previously known as JoWooD Entertainment.

silvacrest4020d ago

i wish sony bought darksiders just to give it the treatment i know sony santa monica would give it

Moncole4020d ago

Sony Santa Monica only makes action games while Darksiders is an action adventure game with puzzle solving. I don't think Sony Santa Monica would be a good choice

cee7734020d ago

every god of war game has puzzles lol.

Moncole4020d ago

I never said GOW didn't have puzzles. If Sony SM wanted to make a Darksiders game than they would have told Sony and Sony could have bought it.

kneon4020d ago

I tried to play Darksiders but it just seemed like a poorly done GOW. So why would Sony Santa Monica want this when they have the real thing?

rpd1234020d ago

Honestly I find Darksiders a lot more enjoyable than God of War. The concept is really cool and I dig the 90's comic style character designs they have going on.

kma2k4020d ago

Depressing I loved darksiders, red faction, & destroy all humans.

Freedomland4019d ago

Do you think they have spent millions of dollars for nothing?
They must have plans for these franchises.
Be patient, you will hear about these games soon.

Something about recreating old school graphics in an era of HD high poly photo realism just hits a spot. I'm not nostalgic cause I mostly played GameCube and GB/A, but it's a visual style that gets over looked even by indies.

Rynxie9m ago

Definitely a fan project. Terrible hand animations. Some characters have very bad body proportions. Some look like little kids in adult bodies. Some have short arms, small head, big hips and so on.

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos1h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto57m ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).
