The pics show PS1's MGS, which is a good thing... but not remastered, which is not a good thing.

Hopefully those are just pics the site used to show the game and they'll actually include a remastered MGS1, but it's very likely just a download voucher.

MGS is the first official game I played that actually taught me games "can" get mature over time; and also taught me certain things that to this day I still perform in other games.

I can officially say MGS is one franchise I will continue to support, as long as Konami, Kojima, and the fanbase keep it 100.

It says nothing of an upgrade to MGS1. As excited as I was for this, if theres no improvements, I have the digital download of MGS1 and MGS4 with the trophy update installed. Ill just wait and buy the HD used copies of 2/3/PW as they are returned.

Very well, actually. I'm in the middle of a playthrough now. Front touch pad for start and select, rear touch pad for R2 L2 and you're golden. And the digital manual is in there just in case you don't know Meryls codec number offhand.

It kills me to say, but this smells like a quick cash in on PS3 owners, MGS 1 is on PSN, every MGS fan has MGS 4 and it recently got trophy support, MGS collection was released last year.

The only thing that would make this a logical release is if it had Twin Snakes, maybe licencing issues ? then fair enough I'll stick to the GC, Still it would have been nice to play a Metal Gear game on the PS3 in HD, PlayStation will always be the home of the franchise.

Yes, when you boot the game up it installs the trophy patch. The newer version the game discs might have it on the disc though, so you dont need to go online to get the patch.

Anyway to be honest while its kind of cool having MGS2 things and visuals it does kind of take away from the aesthetic of the original. The shoot out with Ocelot for example is obviously a lot easier when you can aim in FP view.

The best way to look at Twin Snakes is as if Otacon is retelling it. It is too over the top and has Snake doing stuff Grey Fox and Raiden were doing after upgrades.

It's not that though, it's just that for quite a lot of fans who didn't have game cubes, the game is now pretty expensive and some-what rare. It's not about whether its better than the original, it's about adding it to their collections.
And even so I'm sure most people are at least curious to play through it. I mean it's a remake of one of the best games of all time.

Yeah because when I pop a PS2 game into my BC PS3 , it runs in HD, locked in 60fps with trophy support, HD REMAKES are a scam, run away troll, even if the PS3 was still BC people would still want a HD remakes hence why there also released on the 360, and soon to be on the WII-U.

If any of you new gamers pick this up, on the PSN store, you can get a free add-on for MGS4. It acts like a virtual encyclopedia, that provides extra details about MGS4, it's characters, etc as you progress in the game.

Edit: Just a FYI, since this add-on most likely won't be in the collection (it's a tiny add-on, anyways).

I had the HD Collection and I already have the digital download of MGS1. I thought the MSG1 was going to actually be on the disc. Like Kojima said, they would have to completely upgrade it and remake it in order to do that. He said that a WHILE ago by the way. I should have bought the last hard copy I have ever seen of MGS1 @ blockbuster back in 2001 or 2002.
