PS4 needs a better PlayStation Store - Here's 10 ways to start

IMO the old store was way better than the new one, faster and easier to find things. Now, I don't use the store from PS3, I just use it from my laptop browser.

Agreed. The new store is so laggy. I don't understand why Sony had to change the layout. It takes three times longer to load up, and three times longer to find anything.

I think a fusion of the two would be better, 80% like the old store 20% like the new store.

As you said the old store was significantly faster, and easier to find things.

But the new browser advertises games and content much better, and it's nice having a top 10 list so people can see what's being bought on PSN.

The new store wouldn't be as bad if it was sooooooooooooooooooooooo slow.

And every time i log in i have to download and install a patch/update. It took me 5 mins to redeem a code the other week.

I am covinced the ps4 store will be better. Sony are working hard to fix oddities like this and theyve impressed me in recent months

Sony went wrong with 2 things for me, the ps store and changing ps home.
Both were upgraded, but its worse than before.

For ps home, how can u get rid of central?
I want my benches back.
For ps store, how can u replace the old blue store for this piece of crap?

They took away central...have not been on Home for about 3 years but the central area of Home was the best part for me and loved meeting up with people in dance area.

Is home still in Beta?

Some of these suggestions are totally impractical; scanning all video reviews for unsuitable content? Playing each game in detail to give parents feedback instead of using ERSB detail? These things would take a huge amount of resources away from more important areas, such as studios.

Some other points, like the recent discounts however, would be very welcome.

those 2 were a man's worst as well. Many of these would be good suggestions however. Also you shouldn't have to select the system. The store should know if you're logging in on a PS3, PS4, or Vita and make that menu pop up. Give a user the option for the other ones but no need to waste a man's time asking when most will only be going on for content on their current system.

You're right, some are questionable. Here's my breakdown on what they listed:

1. People like the weekly updates because they know that is the day to check what's new. That could be remedied with a better what's new category but I still like the weekly updates. They just need to have it on a timely fashion.

8. That's a good idea. Let the community offer reviews and not just a star rating. Or at the very least allow users to write written reviews and the community can vote on user reviews.

10. Good luck with that. The PS4 will be much better integrated and will have the available RAM to make things run a lot smoother but there will always be hangups.

Include all the information on the back of the box of actual disk based games. Number of players online and offline. Resolutions supported. There are hundreds of cases where I had to look up info on the web because the psn description was too vague.

I use the Desktop version to browse and purchase now. It's speedy and easy to navigate, and you can access from anywhere.

I only use the console's store to download content from my download list. If it was quicker to use for PS3 or PS4, I'd use it a lot more.

I do the same but you can't access the store from anywhere. It doesn't work from a phone or tablet. That's a big disadvantage for me.

I'm pretty sure phones and tablets have web browsers on them. iPad has Safari. Mobile has Safari, Chrome, Opera etc. It's HTML5 based so it should work.

I agree the store is really dreadful to use.It just seems like a mess when I go into to use it.The worst part is how slow it is.reminds me of the old days I mean before the Playstation1 even exsited.The PS just isnt what a call freindly app style store and wish they would have left it the way it use to be.Im sure the PS4 will a great menu selection layout thateveryone will love but right now my love is just gone for the store.

plus a man thinks that now that Sony knows what people want and expect from an online store from day 1 PS4 will have a much faster and less shoehorned in store than PS3 which a man really feels was partially a bunch of reactions to Live.

Just use the old store's UI until a better one can be implemented.

The abortion that currently sits on everyone's console, known as the PS Store has got to go! Worst UI ever. One cannot even find themes and avatars quickly if they want to. It's a disgusting mess of what used to be completely functional and user friendly.

They need to make it faster and add an actual wishlist. Something should be done about the downloads list as well.

I actually buy less things from the PSN store, simply because it is such a pain in the ass and it honestly takes way too long to do anything. I used to pop on the store just to browse and see what new stuff was available, but now I only use PSN if I know what I am looking for in advance, and even then I dread it.

I thought it was just me but you think the exact same . Psn is such a mess now and I buy far less now than I did before they changed the store . I'm sure Sony will learn from these mistakes and not repeat them on ps4 .

They already changed the store for the PS4 from what we saw in the PS4 presentation. It worked fast then and was similar to the one we have now
