Atlus releases Soul Hackers for 3DS

Nintendo 3DS owners can now begin exploring Amami City as video game publisher Atlus releases the cyberpunk and gothic horror RPG Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers (Soul Hackers for short). Originally released in 1997 only for the Japanese markets, the new release of Soul Hackers is exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS and is available for $39.99. Pre-orders and gamers who purchase the first printing of the title at launch will receive a limited edition music CD, which consists of six fan-voted tracks that are inspired by the original Soul Hackers soundtrack.

Sounds interesting, what's the 3DS like for importing games etc.. are the games region free? Is it possible to get anything to allow to play imported stuff?

NukeDaHippies4020d ago

region locked unfortunately. if u live in Australia like i do u can import stuff from Europe and it'll work. shitty thing is Atlus games seem to take ages to come to euro........still waiting on persona 4 arena.......

izumo_lee4020d ago

For some strange reason Nintendo doesn't allow games to be played in different regions so the 3DS is not region free.

On the bright side many of the games on 3DS do get localized so eventually games from Japan will make it over. Probably due to the immense popularity of the system.

Dj7FairyTail4020d ago

don't worry Atlus tends to localize their games when it comes to DS and 3DS.

RTheRebel4020d ago

is this the first one in the series never played before?

Kratoscar20084020d ago

Nope is the second one, however its not connected to the First Devil Summoner besides the Protagonist and his partners being secret bosses. Its to tally stand alone.

@RTheRebel
That's a vague question, if you mean first in the Shin Megami series then no it is not. If you mean first as in the devil summoner series it is not as well, it's the second game in the devil summoner series. All of the Shin Megami games are stand alone so you don't have to experience one to know what happens in the other.

Do Mario & Luigi Bundle come with both games?

Tom873616d ago

Includes a pre-installed digital copy of Mario & Luigi: Dream Team

edgarohickman3616d ago

You are confused between Wii U and 3DS XL. 3DS XL only has Mario & Luigi: Dream Team on system.

andrewsimons3616d ago

Will Amazon price match Newegg? They have Kirby Triple Deluxe for $29.99

lebr0n3616d ago

Target or Best Buy will.
As long as you print out the NewEgg page or can show it to them on your phone I believe they will.

When are they going to reduce Fire Emblem price to $30?
