Rainbow 6 Patriots development wrapped up by Ubisoft Toronto

Ubisoft Toronto has finished working on its portion of Rainbow 6 Patriots, studio boss Jade Raymond has told VG247′s Sam Clay.

After a core development team shuffle back in 2012, it was reported that Ubisoft Montreal would continue work on the single-player portion, while the Toronto team would handle the MP missions.

The team working on the title is believed to be around 200 strong and while originally thought to be heading to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, it’s likely the game will be released on next-gen – either in tangent or exclusively.

I'm excited for this game, it's been a while since the previous Rainbow Six game.

Yes I can not wait for this game to come out, I still play Vegas 2 online:D

I hope it's a lot like vegas awesome co-op game..one of the best imo.

One of the best franchises of this generation, although, I wish they would have patched a fix for the 1080p resolution bug on the PS3 version of RSV1. Lets hope that Ubisoft gets their server issues ironed out quickly with the release of the next installment.

They could just give me the multiplayer portion, right now, for current gen, and I would be a sold customer.

The idea that its already finished is... unnerving.

R6 games were some of my fav FPS games this gen. They had more open environments and a better cover system than most games today.

Also loved the strategy element and how neither you or the enemies were bullet sponges. The only problem with it were the stories. Definitely made you afraid of getting shot at which almost all FPS games SP lack.

Can't wait.

You should play the older ones. Vegas was godawful because they stripped the strategy down to nothing. This game looks like they're bringing it back.

Neonridr4033d ago

try playing the old ones and just feel the controls and how awkward they are..

I love the Vegas games though, they were so much fun.

KwietStorm_BLM4033d ago

I don't feel Vegas was awful at all. Actually I think it was a good medium between old Rainbow and most other shooters today. Hell there's still more tactical play in Vegas than most shooters. I miss terrorist hunt and the customizing my soldier.

I loved the older ones but I love Vegas too. A good mix of strategy and shooting. You always had options on how to tackle a room.

I just hope they dont screw it up like Ghost Recon Future Soldier. Taking out the squad commands and giving them AI where they were constantly sprinting off in front of you, leaving you to not sneak around but constantly chase after them. Giving squad orders is why I like these games.

After the stunt they are doing with ac. Yea, i also would like to inherit some debt owed to me aswell >:(

NYC_Gamer4033d ago

I won't buy another R6 game until they produce a true tactical experience

KwietStorm_BLM4033d ago (Edited 4033d ago )

And what does that mean exactly? Please don't just say like old Rainbow Six. I'd honestly like an opinion.

malokevi4033d ago

This game can't come soon enough. Loved Vegas and Vegas 2... but I have real nostalgia for the days of Rainbow Six 3.

Review - A Difficult Game About Climbing (PC) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Leo Faria: "A Difficult Game About Climbing is obviously frustrating, and I don’t exactly think it’s a fun pasttime, but it’s exponentially more enjoyable than the horrendous Getting Over It With Bennett Foddy. It’s actually beatable with enough trial and error. Its mechanics, whilst not exactly polished to the brim, work as intended, with no intentional input lag. It’s still clearly meant for Let’s Play youtubers to film themselves losing their minds over it, but it can still be a passable challenge if you’re up for the task."

Review - New Star GP (PC) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Leo Faria: "I loved that New Star GP ended up being nothing like what I was expecting from it. I thought I was going to get a simple and straightforward love letter to Virtua Racing, only for it to be something more akin to the best F1 racing games from the mid to late 90s, with a perfect blend of accessible physics and simulation elements. New Star GP is adorably retro in its visuals and vibes, but it’s got some surprising amount of depth and an interesting career mode. A little hidden gem in the racing scene, without a doubt."
