Randy Pitchford reveals his feelings on the Wii U cancellation of ‘Aliens: Colonial Marines’

Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox Software, today commented on his feelings about the recent cancellation of the Wii U version of “Aliens: Colonial Marines” by Sega. After fans stressed their frustrations to about the situation, Randy Pitchford claimed that he shares such thoughts with the following statement, "I’m sorry the risk you took didn’t work out in spite of your best hopes and intentions. I also have those feelings in spades."

It was supposed to be a huge get as well. The graphics were supposed to be top notch (really show the WiiU could pull off "high end" graphics), the gamepad really put to use, but we all know how it turned out

What I don't understand is why it says that 'Randy always said that it was his main wish to entertain his fans and that he had failed to do so'

If that's the case then why didn't Randy and the rest of Gearbox make the game then instead of passing on to someone else.

Perhaps this is the beginning of the next video-game crash, and this is the game putting it over the edge. The last one was 30 years ago in 1983 and was another game involving an "alien", E.T.. History repeats itself? Who knows! I know I am going to start a fire with this comment, but with the way the industry is going right now, maybe we need to start fresh again. Its HORRIBLE! With the rumors of the next xbox, and Nintendo jumping the gun, and Sony being the ignorant-arrogant-out-of-touch -with-their-fans company that they are, this might truly be the end of gaming as we know it. Of course it will bounce back and someone will come out on top...

I too was so disappointed with Aliens: Colonial Marines. I am a HUGE Alien fan! So big, that I even tried defending Prometheus as being a worthy entry into the franchise (compared to Alien: Ressurrection, it really is). Anyways, I have no words with how horrible this game turned out. In my opinion, there should be NO excuse for how horrid this game was. It had been pushed back so many time, you think they could have perfected it. In fact, I would go as far as to say that anyone who was responsible for making this garbage should be banned from working on games EVER! You mean to tell me that not one person developing games these days can come out and say "listen guys, this is obviously a steaming pile of crap, we can and SHOULD do better. We owe it to the fans, and to ourselves and our careers." Does no one have any pride anymore?! The sad part is, this is not even the only example of how developers have lost connection with the gaming community! The whole gaming community has gone off the deep end! It is rather quite sad...

It was probably so hard to port that it would take over 10000hr to port it and it would have cost $80 because the devs worked very hard in that time.
