agree, amazing underrated game, hope for Crackdown 3 NextGen

SethThePirate4029d ago

Yeah if you ignored the story and just made the most of the sandbox fun it was an absolute joy! Agility FTW!

Gazondaily4029d ago

Definitely an underrated game.

Many people forget that the brains behind GTA was responsible for this, and there was just so much fun and mayhem to be had. And things got even crazier once you played with a friend.

Excellent game and one you should definitely try out, especially with a mate, if you havrnt already done so.

Snookies124029d ago

I played a bit of it, but it always felt like it was missing something... I couldn't put my finger on it though. Regardless, it was a pretty fun game. :]

SethThePirate4029d ago

I think the issue it did have was related to it being Sandbox. It meant that you didn't really have any structure, the game wouldn't narrow the field as to where you should go it just said "Here's a city, go nuts"...A blessing and a curse.

kreate4029d ago

I would choose alan wake over crackdown.

g2gshow4029d ago

@the idiot

dude different type of game how do you even .........ill say no more stfu

kreate4029d ago (Edited 4029d ago )

@g2gshow

becuz i think alan wake was a great game and it was also under-rated. alan wake deserve more.

"Why Crackdown is One of The Best Games of This Generation"

didnt mention any specific genre. wish there was a alan wake 2 instead of a crackdown 2.

*i know they made another chapter for alan wake but i still want a full blown game

Crackdown 1 was super fun but boy what a disappointment crackdown 2 was

the best thing about crackdown 1 was that you could get to the bosses right from the start

BanBrother4029d ago

One of the funnest games I have played this gen. My friend told me to get it, so when I got my Xbox in 08', it was one of the first games I got. It was so well made, and it actually gave you a sense of freedom and accomplishment levelling up your speed, strength and how high you can jump.

I think Crackdown 1 craps all over Prototype (seriously, I thought that game sucked, the controls were nowhere near as fluent as they could have been).
Anyway, I never bought Crackdown 2. Microsoft totally screwed that up, releasing a game that took less than a year to make (after they lost old code lmao). After that disappointing release that is when I got into Infamous.

Why o why4029d ago

Crack down 2 was blatantly an expansion pack dressed up as full price. Same everything pretty much. It kinda got a free pass. I understand if it's not broken don't fix it but don't take the piss

pandaboy4029d ago

Does anyone remember Edge saying 'if infamous 2 is better than crackdown 2 we will eat our hats'.

Infamous 2 meta 83
Crackdown 2 meta 70

Of course Edge fixed their scores giving crackdown 2 an inflated rating just to prove their point. Funny times lol, but also grossly unprofessional.

palaeomerus4029d ago (Edited 4029d ago )

Infamous 2 wasn't as good as the first one. The vampire add on was better than the main game.

g2gshow4029d ago

@frakistan
totally right it was such a let down all i could do is shake my head when i beat it

very true if you had the balls why not give the player the choice to play how they see fit

DigitalAnalog4029d ago

Without this game, there would've been no Gravity Rush.

Alos884029d ago

I don't see how they're related.

deep_fried_bum_cake4029d ago

The director said that the levelling system in Crackdown had an influence on the one in Gravity Rush. DigitalAnalog in his infinite wisdom has taken this to mean that there would be no Gravity Rush without Crackdown.

ShiftyLookingCow4029d ago (Edited 4029d ago )

I loved Crackdown 1. When it was released, it was awesome. Jumping around tall building to collect orbs and the power ups themselves were a blast.

My 360 died before 2 came out and Realtime Worlds(the devs behind 1) moved onto APB which was an absolute disaster.

I wish they would release it on PC.

nthstew4029d ago (Edited 4029d ago )

fanboys started this again if crackdown is one of the best games of this generation then sure think about alien colonial marines too xbox fanboys..and stop making fun of yourself
PlayStation and xbox have ton of exclusives this doesn't mean you call every exclusives are best of this generations this is stupid.

FYI- I own both xbox 360 and ps3.And I'm no fanboy

SethThePirate4029d ago

I really don't understand what you are trying to say here, partially because of your use of English, but also because you've made leaps of assumption about fanboyism and this piece being about the console rather than the game.

Good_Guy_Jamal4029d ago

Why don't you try saying all of that in English? Because it sounds so interesting.

Nalexanderc4029d ago

I can assure you I am not an Xbox fanboy :D I'd love the game no matter what platform it was released on, the fact that it is Xbox exclusive is incidental.

Xbox 360 & OG Xbox Games Should All be Enhanced on Xbox Series X

Gamerheadquarters; "With the jump in power from the Xbox Series X all Xbox 360 and Original Xbox titles that are backwards compatible should be enhanced as soon as they’re available."

They’ve been working the past few years and have become proficient in that department so I definitely think they are capable of such a feat. Their BC through emulation that can natively upscale blows my mind and gives them an advantage over competitors using multiple hardware settings which requires higher clock speeds and produces more heat.

I caught Chaos Theory on sale and was actually blown away by how it scaled on the One X.

autobotdan1517d ago

Ninja Gaiden 2 in 8k please

ziggurcat1517d ago

I imagine that they'll carry over the functionality of the X regarding playing previous gen games to the series X.

PS4XBOXONEPC1517d ago

They better have good support for backwards compatibly.... Since they have no 1st pay games LMAO 😂

CaptainCook1517d ago

Why are you laughing at your own joke? It wasn't funny.

ElementsUnknown1516d ago (Edited 1516d ago )

“compatibly”, “1st pat games”: Are those supposed to be “compatibility” and “first party games”? Doesn’t really come across as an adult. No disrespect, legit question: is English not your first language?

And xbox one games, there are many underperformed 3rd party games that needs frames boost.
