It's going to take something really special to win over critics more than Bioshock: Infinite did. If anyone can achieve this it's Naughty Dog though.

i also think that the gfx awards on consoles will be between : God of war ascension,the last of us,beyond

It's gonna be an All out brawl for GOTY this year. There have been some good surprises at the start of the year and its just hitting April.

All I know is Gamers are gonna have yet another good year of games. I think this one will be special though cause this the last BIG year for the ps3/360.

Im loving bioshock, but I think last of us is going to beat it in every department. Definately ai and graphics, likely in gameplay and story too.

Either way, in going to an interesting tussle this year and probably everyone will have a different idea of goty

Yeah Bioshock is my current goty and I believe that Naughty Gods might top Irrational Games, especially in AI(I can see Ellie topping Elizabeth as most well crafted Side character in videogames)

I'm only being honest here, but I strongly believe The Last of Us will not have a better, more in-depth and tied-together plot-twist and ending as BioShock Infinite. Think about it objectively. BioShock tackles themes such as systematic racism, history, politics, philosophy, idealism, religion, war, science, late 19th-early 20th century American culture, the rejected utopia and more, and ties it all together into a wonderful plot.

At this stage it's anyone's guess really, but BioShock's background and attention to detail is beyond amazing. I don't see The Last of Us beating Irrational Games on that.

The lead characters might have a fight on their hands for who are the best though. Already, Elizabeth and Booker are some of the best-written characters in games.

Booker and Joel are both world-weary, gruff lead characters with muddy pasts and voiced by the same guy. Elizabeth and Ellie are both young, wise, strong-willed, but also innocent to the true world and have a protagonist escorting them, although they both have incredible AI to ensure that you don't actually need to escort them in gameplay.

Both games are special in their own ways IMO.

I think Elizabeths ai is over rated to be honest, I don't know why everyones going on about her. Yeah she's a well written and acted character, but she still runs off in front of you, which I hate in an ai, she still walks in front of your line of fire, traps you in doorways. She doesn't really do anything in battle but toss you ammo when your out but thats hardly anything revolutionary.

And the enemy ai is nothing to write home about, its very simple, they basically just charge or take cover and I can't really remember one instance when they did something clever or surprised me. I even opened a door on one once and he just stood there. I though he was maybe a friendly still i nearly walked into him and then he got angry. Last of us is going to be in a league of its own here.

Bioshock does heave a very brave story for all the reasons you said, so LoU will have its work cut out there. I think it will deal alot with the darker side of human nature and what were all capable of if our backs were put up to the wall. What would you do tp survive.

What did Bioshock even do that was worthy of a 96% on Metacritic, it's another FPS at the end of the day which broke NO new ground..

I just pre-ordered this game today on Amazon. Really looking forward to it. It looks great. Plus it is a new game and not a sequel, which is great. The Uncharted series is so well done. Naughty Dog are a great group of developers. I have complete faith in them and in this game. Happy gaming everyone!
