5 Vita Games That Could Have Benefited From Cross Buy

GXC: "PlayStation Vita owners (and their wallets) grew excited when Sony took the time to announce that several games available on both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. However, since the announcement, merely three retail games have actually utilized this purchase system - PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time and Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault, the latter of the list still having not been released on the handheld. The only one on that list that I could see happening is MLB '13 , the rest are from money sucking publishers... EA, activision, capcom, ubisoft....

How exactly does cross buy benefit the non money hungry developers?

TheRacingX4034d ago

A gamer goes into a store looking to buy a game, finds two different games, likes/wants them both, sees that game 'A' includes vita cross buy, game 'B' does not, gamer chooses game 'A' because he owns a vita and sees value in having it on vita as well. Publisher gets sale they may not have gotten without it. Selling an extra 10-20K ? copies because this is included probably covers the cost of the port to vita, the customer may now perceive the publisher as gamer friendly because they gave the gamer additional content for $0. Look at the flak the EA's , Activisions, Capcoms get for nickel and diming gamers, microtranactions etc..

Or maybe they missed out on selling an extra 10-20k copies as people didn't need to buy the game twice.
