Phantasy Star Online 2 for Playstation Vita. We know it exists. We want it. But where is it?
epicJRPG.com examines the current lack of an official North American localization announcement for PSO2 on PS Vita, and provides a list of 4 key reasons why Sega should go ahead and move (much) faster to localize the game at the earliest possible opportunity.
SEGA has announced Fearless: Year of Shadow, a campaign that celebrates Sonic the Hedgehog and his brooding acquaintance, Shadow.
GamesIndustry.biz writes: "Relic is best known for the Company of Heroes and Dawn of War games, and recently developed the new Age of Empires for Microsoft. Relic will transition to an independent studio and will no-longer be part of the Sega group of studios.
The majority of the 240 job cuts are across Creative Assembly and Sega Europe, while there will be a ‘small number’ cut from Sega HARDLight. There was no mention of other Sega UK studios, including Two Point Studios and Sports Interactive."
Sega had such a turbulent existence from the mid-90s to when they dropped out of console manufacturing entirely in 2001, it’s understandable if you’ve never heard of the Genesis Nomad.
Handhelds have never been known for online multiplayer, let alone massive online RPGs. But hey, before Halo, consoles weren't known for online shooters, either. If Vita can push the boundaries of what online games can be on handhelds (and PhS2 is a step in the right direction) it may become a runaway hit.
I am abit pissed at sega they have dropped the ball with this big time i played the open beta almost until full release. I felt i had to stop because i couldnt understand a thing, other than that i was extremely impressed overall with the game.
The western community had mainly populated certain ships and was rather strong support wise etc...
Sega have a gem with this but dont even update the community when they have already confirmed a western pc release at the least, wtf are they playing at it isnt hard to just say hey guys we are a bit behind but heres the progress thus far.
Seriously some of these companies these day need to learn how to communicate in the age where communication is easier then it ever has been.
I've been playing it for a few weeks now and I really love it! Not being able to read japanese is definitely a hindrance, especially when it comes to creating a sega ID to log in (that damn captcha!) but after playing it with the help of online guides and tutorials, I'm starting to get the hang of things. I see no reason why a localized version wouldn't be successful. Sitting in the park or pretty much anywhere on the go, while playing a cross-platform compatible f2p mmo is an experience I'd absolutely like to expand on...and be able to understand without some help.
I'd actually buy it even though it's free to play. Sega doesn't even know what they have in their hands.
They released news on this a couple days ago.
