Absolutely adored RE0! One of my favorite resident evil games. Loved the awesome character change system :P surprised to not see grand theft auto liberty city stories. Great prequel on a great portable system

I loved Zero too, the atmosphere on the train was terrific! I wish they would release a HD Trilogy comprised of RE:REMAKE, Zero and Recelations.

Yes! nice to see a bit of love for Resident Evil Zero for a change. I thought it was brilliant, loved Rebecca and Billy I thought they were a great duo. I always thought we would see a return of those two in a future RE. Ah well.
Anyway I loved the fact that you could switch between the two and drop items anywhere you wanted. I also loved the horrible leech guys that consumed your ammo and scared the s***t out of me! damn that music!

Edit: Ugh just thinking, Resident Evil used to be awesome. What the heck happened :(

I loved RE0. Billy and Rebecca were great characters. I would love to play as them again. Unfortunately, Capcom is acting like the series revolve around, Chris, Leon, and Jill.

I think its because the RE series started off with Chris, Jill, Wesker & Barry then came Leon in RE2. RE Zero wasnt even made yet that is why fans of the series remember those 3 characters.

I thought I also remembered rebecca from RE helping out chris, but I could be wrong, its been a while since ive played The 1st RE.

Yeah, she played the piano for him in RE1.

Too bad the RE movies dont even go with the main characters in the game. Thats a major letdown.

I'm not sure I'd classify any Zelda game as a prequel. A prequel has to involve the same characters as the original story... it doesn't simply mean any supplementary story set prior in time to the original.

...And, in general, I can't think of many prequels, games or otherwise, that are done well.

Most recently, Tomb Raider is a good example. But that's about equal parts Prequel, equal parts Reboot. And beyond that... I don't know. The "In the Begining" movie was a great prequel to Babylon 5; the Greg Bear/others? Foundation novels were a fairly good set of prequels to Asimov's work.

...And that's all I can think of.

Kurylo3d4040d ago

by far the best prequel of any series was mgs3. So awesome and so important for the future of mgs.

MGS 3 is one of the best games for me ever, plus it's the best MGS to date

Resident Evil 1996 - 2023 - A Look at some Resident Evil games and how the visuals improved

CG writes: In this video we take a look at the original 1996 release of Capcom’s Resident Evil on the PSOne, then go through most of the more popular games in the long-running series. You can see the full list below in chronological order of release (or thereabouts). Sure, there are some notable omissions such as Resident Evil Chronicles and Resident Evil Outbreak 1 & 2 etc. but the video does a great job of highlighting how the game’s visuals progressed over 25 years. The last game in the video showcases the Resident Evil 4 remake which released earlier this year.

Quite amazing how in late 90s those pre-rendered static backgrounds were like the bees knees. I am wondering what a game would look like today if it used the same pre-rendered backgrounds. Are we looking at photo-realistic environments or is there no need when you have games like UNRECORD using UE5?

Spenok199d ago

I would say no need when you consider games like Unrecord.

ApocalypseShadow198d ago

Not just the visuals. But the immersion since 3 of them are in VR
